have you tried looking for traditional names? i considered getting a saami name for the longest time, but it has to be something thatlike starts with A, and none or those suit me. so i decided on not changing my given name. it can stay, i identify with the meaning enough that it works for me.
but my new middle and last name are chosen and self created. last name is a direct translation of the saami name of the place where i grew up. only a few people would pick up on that, but it's still better than taking my great grandma's name as that would piss off my father. i also don't have any contact with that side, so...
the chosen middle name is something i've been thinking about for a long while. even made an fb profile with these names, for people i'm stealthing with sort of. the name complements my birth name in an interesting way that i could try explaning if anyone feels like knowing me on fb. you'd habe to choose between male and nb (seemingly female) account though.

Hmm well in real life I still go by my birth name because honestly I really like it, and I don't exactly feel like I need to change my name. Like I'm just as nonbinary even with a very masculine name! But I had to come to that realization! When I first came to my gender identity I jumped too fast into everything, and I had to take a step back and realize some things about myself, and for awhile because I wasn't planning on hormones or transitioning I think I was very much just try to learn to feel comfortable with the body I had, and I came to realize my gender is just as valid regardless my presentation, or name is! Plus I'm very passive aggressive, and changing name/requesting people to call me something different is too much of a hassle! I don't even bother requesting people to use my pronouns, but I've told people I'm close to, and they try their best to remember, and I get a huge smile on my face when I hear "they" used :3 Sorry I digressed, anyways I choose name Valerie, on here at time because I was obsessed with Amy Winehouse's song Valerie, at the time, & plus it's such a cute name & works for an Italian name too! I just keep it on here now over the time lapse because y'all know me by that and it'd feel weird not being called Val on here, which I love Val because it also sounds neural :3 plus if I ever decided to try drag I'd use Valerie Celeste, as my drag name. Maybe... some people have told me it doesn't fit the kinda punk/alternative/grunge style I'd go for with my drag if I tried it. However if I ever decided to change my name to something more neutral I'd go with Riley! I love the name Riley! Also if I chose to go more feminine with my name I'd definitely go by Valerie, though! But for now I'm totally chill with my birth name, and I actually likes it! Idk probably because it's been my name since I was born??? Haha

I think any of those would fit you pretty well! I looked up the meaning for my two favorites earlier. Kayo means beautiful generation. Mikio means three trees together. I like Mikio even more, now. Especially since we're interested in druidry, and hubby's favorite number is three. Thanks! Druidry is really interesting! Are you involved in any circles ? And would you like me to address you by Mikio to try it out? No circles or anything like that. We plan on joining OBOD (the order of bards, oates and druids) but you have to go through at least the first course to learn the basics, and since it's sent to you it does cost money. Afterwards though, you have access to all groves in the order so you can see if there are any near you, or you could make your own I guess. Otherwise, you can correspond with people online. There are different orders, but we like that one. It seems like the biggest, maybe? And sure! You can address me as Mikio. I tried thinking of that being my name when we went out, today. Like, I would imagine me introducing myself to people as that. I think that felt okay.

We could try out some names here, if you want. I'm happy to call you by Kayo or Mikio or anything else you're considering. Maybe we could make our little signature thing, under our avatar, the name we're currently trying out and ask people to use it?
Go to your profile, look to the right and hit the change profile button, I forget what it says, you'll see it. Go to the top of that page and hit the second tab to get to where you can change your name, it will then be the one over the profile pic. I think people forget about this, you need a certain number of posts before you can play with it, maybe that was the old forum, anyways... You can change it all you want, until you find something you like, until you want to change it again, but now you know how to...

In the old forest my name was Satinjoy. I chose it, because its who I am. That its not a proper name is irrelevant. And to some I will always be Satinjoy, SJ.
The old forest burned and I escaped to this one. In the old forest the TS girls tried to enforce the binary narrative on me. It became life threatening, and the core writers of the forest left or were banished or exiled when they stepped in to defend me, and were invalidated or censered.
I remained in the old forest as Satinjoy, but I came here stealth in my nonbinary name, Trinity. Core, sexuality, gender. Or old character actor, young feral girl, and wise mature beautiful fairy. Gendersplit, then one.
And Trinity is also the Matrix Trinity, for I am like her too.
Trinity Satin Joy became my public writers name and the name they know me as in the avant garde theater, the old Warhol crowd, the resistance theater.
My original stage name remains, it is androgyne, Perry Barden. And my birth name also starts with Perry.
So that was the evolution of my names. Trinity Satin Joy has become a thing, its here to stay.
One of the more interesting twists and turns in the precious Unicorn Forest.
The Unicorn Forest forged of love and pain, where the wild are set free, and hearts sing with joy.
As to The Fairy, that is another story and another name. Sh'e is quite real you know.
Lovingly
Trinity.

No reason, I guess. M is just different from my given name, which starts with a K. But it doesn't really matter. Maybe I just like the way Mikio looks written out, lol. Yeah, we could try that. Do you have any names you're considering right now? A few, I keep coming back to Avery, but I like Quinn and Spencer too. I'm still looking for inspiration and suggestions though. Scrolling through a few websites right now I really like Aubrey as a less common neutral A name, to throw that out there for you.

I've definitely thought of trying to learn my spirit name but it's not so simple as choosing one. From what I can tell it's usually quite a long process and it's given to you rather than chosen. I'd like to know mine, but not so much to use in every day life. I've considered a shortening of my middle name because I've always liked it better than my first name but I don't know, it just doesn't fit or sound right. It would be Cris if I did that, and I'm not a fan. Maybe it'll grow on me though. No rash decisions!

Hey, i also wanted a gender neutral name. I scrolled trough name lists on the internet for like ... months? I don't know, but I spent a lot time just researching names and wrote lists with names that I considered. In the end it was really easy to decide. I chose one of the first names I considered. I always really liked the name "Maxim" and I wanted to one day name my son Maxim. When I found out that "Maxime" is the gender neutral version of the name and that you pronounce it the same way I was really euphoric. I still researched a lot of names after that, but until now I stucked with Maxime.
Just think about what kind of a name you want. Do you want an english name? A name in another language? Do you want your name to be traditional or more modern? Do you want a name that everybody has or should it be really rare or something in between? How long should your name be? Do you want the name to be more feminine or masculine associated? When you know all of these thing, just research names! Take your time and write down every name that you would consider in a word document. Later you delete names you don't really like. I wish you good luck - if you didn't already find a name :-) If you did, I hope these advices will help other people.

At the age of 15 I was an otaku and wanted a japanese name so I went by Tian. My sister and her friends were very supportive so they called me Tian to try out. After a period of time I wanted a new one, a cooler name so I went by Rex and felt embarrassed the moment my sister and cousin called me Rex in real life - I don't know how Rex came to my mind. Then I needed a "real" name, a name I wanted on my pass because I hated my birth name. I had no idea but choosing the name my parents had have given me if I were assigned male at birth. Buuut my mom begged me to choose every name except Yannik/Jannik (a very common name for my year of birth), so I asked her if she had any idea. And yes she had! Two very beautiful names that fit me and my surname. Since offical name change (four years ago) I don't regret my names even though they're assigned as male names.
I took my mother with me to my therapist (after two or three years) to get her calling me by my name. My mom told my father and he needed six months while he used neither names nor pronouns after he called me by my name and chosen pronouns. My sister and friends had no problems.

When I was in my teens, my Mom casually mentioned that she and my Dad would have named me Rebecca if I had been born a girl. It struck a chord with me, and I've carried the name secretly inside me for a long time. I love that it could have been my actual name, and I think "Becky" is a sassy, spunky name that fits my extroverted personality.
I first tried out "Rebecca Strauss" as a pseudonym required for some music contests, and later made a Rebecca Mii for playing Nintendo games. When I finally discovered this forum, my name was a no-brainer.
I love being called Becky, and love thinking of myself as Becky. It's never going to happen in the real world, but maybe in my next life, I'll come back as a Becky.

I got lucky insofar that my parents chose a name that is technically 'unisex'; my mom's whole reasoning was something about how, in the workplace, people would read my name and wouldn't automatically assume a gender. Still, though, most of the Morgans I've known have been female-identifying so on days when I'm really not feeling it, I go by Ben. I honest to god can't remember where Ben even came from? I think I had an alter-ego on neopets or deviantart (lol) that went by Ben, and the name just sort of stuck. Only a few people know about Ben, though, because it really is easier just to go by Morgan a lot of the time (and admittedly, it's kind of nice having a name that could be either... seems fitting for me).

When my sister had her children they started calling me "Auntie KitKat" (my nickname in "real life" is Kat) hence the name on here being KitKat, nothing to do with the chocolate bar! I don't mind being called Kat by friends and family though as it's a shortened version of my birth name and I love cats so it fits well! KitKat is also acceptable as Kit is also a shortened version of my birth name and sounds less "girly"

I thought about names and quite quickly came to the conclusion that a gender neutral name of my original name would feel best. My original name is Petra, and so I thought "Petri sounds nice", it makes me think of one of the dinosaurs in the old children's movie "The Land Before Time". My mother complained and said that she fought hard to name me Petra, which made me doubt myself, but then I did a little internet search and found out that Petri has the same origin as Petra (Petrus) and thus has the same meaning. Sooo Im sticking with that.
The other day I left my bicycle at the workshop and when the guy asked for my name I said Petri and felt really proud that I dared.
