Heard enough. No meds. Deep thanks No meds. That is gonna' be a tough road to go down but not an impossible path though. First you need to address the cause of the anxiety. For that you need to delve deep within yourself and you may not like what you find there. So be prepared. See a real therapist or anyone that is an actual psychologist. A counselor or social worker prolly' ain't gonna' work. You can figure this out yourself but... be careful. Seriously though hon. Anxiety is just a by product of the world we live in today. Most people have to deal with it and some through medication. So how bad is the anxiety? Is it a full blown panic attack in which you believe you are having a heart attack and experiencing physical symptoms such as chest pains and shortness of breath? If so you need medication for a while at least. Is it waking up in the middle of the night with what feels like a nest of garter snakes coming out of hibernation in you stomach? Is it where you can't sleep at night or have trouble falling asleep with a racing mind? If so you can probably talk to your therapist about it. And better yet address the root cause of your anxiety. The latter I wouldn't recommend on your own. You would need a good therapist. A real Psychotherapist with a true working knowledge of the mind instead of a degree in counseling or social work. Yeah I'm a little bitter with the latter two because... Well I know more than they do and one I saw I should have charged her. seriously. I did figure it out myself but did use medication in the interim until I could identify what the root cause was, so no shame there. I did see a shrink for the meds and we talked and now she actually sends people my way for paranormal stuff and parapsychological stuff. No I don't have a pedigree just a working knowledge of metaphysics and parapsychology. It is all my opinion and no professional psychological analysis. Every house or area is haunted down here it seems. But I don't charge money for any investigation. So... I am a hobby parapsychologist and paranormal investigator but never charge a dime for anything even my semi professional opinion. BTW not a typo. LOL. I can guess what causes a lot of these problems in our world and society today but can't say. That is something that you need to figure out for yourself. We all feel anxiety and just pretty much an instinctual feeling of danger but if it becomes overpowering and turns into panic attacks, please do not take these lightly because a panic attack can actually put you in cardiac arrest. The thing that worries me is that if you wanna' go down the road to finding the root of your anxiety then you are gonna' have to face some level of self knowledge. The root of your anxiety may be deeply embedded in your unconscious mind and have no connection to your life now or your family or job or being trans. Something may have triggered it. I do have some books that I can suggest but you may not want to even read them. Thus I say be prepared. If not see a good therapist and one with a really good working knowledge of psychology. I followed this path and had to face stuff about myself that I was prepared to face but still was a punch to the gut and would take my breath away. The only reason I could handle it was because I refused to have preconceptions. No preconceptions about anything. Even myself. I was as fluid as Mercury. I would definitely suggest seeking professional help with the anxiety though.

I was going to bed, but ended up here again. I agree that for some going to therapy is important, to find out the root cause of the anxiety. I don't agree with panic attacks causing cardiac arrest, though. A panic attack is not dangerous; your brain is tricking you into believing so.

The crucial part of overcoming anxiety is to stop feeding the fear.

it's possible to die from fright, though highly unlikely.
all i can say about anxiety, is that it gets better if you find the trick that work for you. unless you're already too damaged by traumatic events that you haven't been able to deal with early enough.
when you're going out of control, make yourself a strict sleep schedule, create a healthy diet devoid of sugar and caffeine, and follow them. order yourself to put worries away after 7 pm, anything you haven't manage to solve by then can't be solved that day anyway.
anxiety is a chemical imbalance. turning off the production of bad stuff is diffocult because the anxiety triggers productipn of more. only ways to get rid of the chemicals is sleep, physical activity that is nowhere near life threatening, and a healthy diet.
and never ruminate unless you're doing some calming activity like knitting or walking in the woods. has to be somewhat physical, listening to music doesn't count.

Well said, Taka. I agree, although I think it's never too late to get better. For some it takes a lot of work, but most can recover.

thequietplaceproject.com Here's a resource that has helped me with both anxiousness, anxiety, and depression. It really is a great site. I've personally really have gotten help from "the thoughts room" where you can just type whatever you want and get your thoughts out, and you just watch your words fall down from sky.
