All things considered, I think the interview went well. They covered a lot and I don't think any of us could imagine the spotlight that Jenner is under during all this and the trepidation they are showing about fully revealing themselves as a woman is quite reasonable. I know some trans women are going to criticize it because its not how they would have done or how they feel, but that's tough. Everyone has the right to do it their way and if Jenner is happy with the interview, then that is what matters. Its their life in the spotlight, not any of ours. They also said that they aren't a spokesperson for the community. And ABC did try and do a little education as well.

People are still using male pronouns even though there is no mystery anymore. Go figure.

I watched the whole interview. Maybe something good could come of this, I don't know that there's much more that could be done better in an interview in a situation quite like this. For the troubles most of us have, at least we aren't generally in the tabloids' eye…dealing with that, in addition to, the dysphoria takes quite a lot of courage...

Well, the ripples are spreading. Those who know me in Aa watched, everyone wants to know what I thought of it. So I relayed Jaime comment.
Yeah, all of a sudden they know a real live transsexual an rd it's got them asking what it's like to be one, rather than to ignore it in me.
That by itself is good. They seem to have been afraid to ask.
One of the guys heard me and asked what I was talking about. I said I was transgender and he said are you shutting me?
He got all embarrassed and I told him all I cared about was the warm handshake he gave me.
It is enough. It's the beginnings of respect, and they are rattled to the core, reality is not what they expected, not when they are confronted with someone transitioning they know.
Will the girls blow it for us?
Or will those who just live truthfully carry the day?
God help us all.

Eleven part mini series is in the works, hour long segments as things move along, on E! on course. I suspect it's going to be putting a lot of people under pressure to reveal their lives as well. If you want publicity, you just might be able to have it. If it's privacy, I think it's going to become difficult. Double edged, just going to have to wait and see. The bottom feeders of 'news' are going to have a field day, as well as the usual hate groups. Reputable news sources are going to be in a state of initial confusion. But for those who wanted trans to be pushed to the front of awareness, it's just getting started. Most of it is going to depend on the community to ignore the worst and talk about the best, just another day. Ignore the bigots, the best defense is to not engage. Let them burn themselves out repeating their lies. It's a leap forward, but it hasn't landed yet.

I still see another "Reality Show" coming down the line. The only thing that I can say is that if I had the money(Let's face it. Bruce Jenner don't look like Bruce Jenner anymore) I would transition totally in private and then become totally anonymous. Yes there are places you can go and hide and no one would ever know. I got 5 in mind now at least. But that's me. I hate the limelight or spotlight. I don't even care to be known as me. But being in the spotlight is addictive to some, maybe even more so than Cocaine. Bruce Jenner will never have to work again. Hell Bruce Jenner could afford to have plastic surgery to totally change the face and become someone totally different. Anonymously. Royalties can do wonders. I am very skeptical. But if it does paint us in a good light then God Bless Bruce Jenner. I would never have done an interview. I would just fade away. Go somewhere that no one ever heard or at least cared for the name Bruce Jenner. Like I said though the spotlight is addictive. I only pray that this makes us a little more accepted when people hear what Bruce had to say. Did I mention I am skeptical? Seriously though I can see a reality show called "Transition" in the future. That may not even be a bad thing. But I'm still skeptical though and will remain guarded. I may be wrong and probably am. But if not. I would like everyone to buy me a drink if I am right. Virtually or in real life.

I'm still working through the interview on you tube. I've been brought to tears more than once.
All I can say right now is we needed this real bad.
My mascara is running...

I was having an email conversation with Evelyn when Laura my spouse wanted me to ask her what she thought about Bruce Jenner and remarked that Jenner will never pass and that she preferred Alexis Arquette as a better looking trans woman. Anyway, it's interesting that we can have these conversations at my home even though Laura is still very much a prude about transition issues and would prefer that it would all just go away. Here's what Evelyn wrote, I think it was very thoughtful.
My thoughts I wrote to a relative
"In my opinion the interview on Bruce Jenner’s coming out as a transgendered woman was a little hard to watch. He doesn’t pass at all as a woman which is a common problem with transwomen if the magic and genetics isn’t right, especially for late transitioners like Jenner. He’s 65 years old, and personally I don’t see the point. His voice hasn’t changed and isn’t helping either. With that said, I will say he is very brave, and since he’s currently the highest profile celebrity to come forward as transgendered, it’s actually going to help others and quite possibly save lives. The suicide rate among transgendered people both men and women (transmen) are pretty high, around 41% have attempted it. Not me I don’t have that level of gender anxiety or dissatisfaction (also known medically as “gender dysphoria”). The transgender movement will also benefit as the media brings more exposure and understanding to what being transgender is all about. It is said that this year 2015 is the year “transgender” will come into its own and a mass movement (an estimated 7% of the worlds population) can begin to gain acceptance in society. Similar to what the successful gay and lesbian rights movements have done in the past. Although in the past, LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) rights movements never really brought attention to the T part of LGBT. With the interview receiving 16.9 million viewers in the US alone, not including scheduled online re-broadcasts - it’s a good start. It was 20/20’s best Friday night viewing in 15 years."

Trin Oh please Trin, get a grip honey! The emotional Satinjoy... What a surprise It was the moment with the kids, when I told mine, and that girl that got the school thing and her crying there. That's what hit. They are asking questions now at work. It's like...but we didn't know anyone before...
