Disclaimer: These terms are optional and based on personal preference/identity. There is no gender police here - everyone experiences and describes their gender identity in many different ways.
Agender - (Also known as Genderless) A term used to describe a person who has no gender.
Androgyne - A person who cannot be classified as male or female. Androgynes may identify as beyond gender, between genders, moving across genders, entirely genderless, or any or all of these, exhibiting a variety of masculine, feminine and/or gender neutral traits or expression.
Androgynous - A gender expression - a type of style of clothing or appearance, the visual state of being in-between man and woman or both man and woman.
Aporagender - A non-binary umbrella term. A gender that is separate from male, female, and anything in between while still having a very strong and specific gendered feeling.
Bigender - A person who feels they have a distinct female and male gender identity that fluctuates between each other or both at the same time.
(Non-binary) Butch - A non-binary gender identity and a butch gender expression, or claiming Butch as an identity outside of the gender binary.
Cross-dresser - A person who, regardless of motivation, gender identity or physical sex, wears clothes, makeup, etc. that are considered by the culture to be appropriate for another gender but no one’s own (preferred term to “transvestite”). This gender non-conforming behavior should not be conflated with queer sexualities. Cross-dressers can be any gender identity and physical sex - they can be male, female, transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, neutrois or agender. "Mulan" depicts a girl cross-dressing as a male soldier is one example that cross-dressing isn't restricted to males only. Transsexual men and women, when they are living as their assigned gender, they do not view dressing as their congruent sex to be cross-dressing. However, a feminine transsexual man may view they are cross-dressing if they dress up in what society deems traditionally feminine clothing, vice-versa for transsexual women.
Demiguy - Someone partly a guy, and partly something else, without defining that other part.
Demigirl - Someone partly a girl, and partly something else, without defining that other part.
Epicene - The term epicene literally means “common to both sexes.” It sometimes refers to individuals who have characteristics of both genders or someone who cannot be classified as one sex or the other. Most often, it refers to effeminate males.
(Non-binary) Femme - A non-binary gender identity and a femme gender expression, or claiming Femme as an identity outside of the gender binary.
Gender Bender - (Also crudely known as "Genderfuck") A gender expression for folks who actively rebel against, or "bend" expected gender roles. They may present as androgynous and/or display gender non-conforming behavior. They may identify as cisgender, transgender, genderqueer or transsexual.
Genderfluid - A person who fluctuates between more than one gender, or between having a gender and not having one.
Genderqueer - A term that may be used to describe those with non-normative gender, either as an umbrella term or a stand-alone identity.
Girlfag - A woman who is very attracted to gay/bi men. She may (or may not) also feel she is (fully or partly) a “gay man in a woman’s body”. Girlfags may identify primarily as bi or straight or lesbian, and are often attracted to more types of people than just gay/bi men.
Guydyke - A man who is very attracted to lesbian/bi women. He may (or may not) also feel he is (fully or partly) a “lesbian in a man’s body”. Guydykes may identify primarily as bi or straight or gay, and are often attracted to more types of people than just lesbian/bi women
Intergender - A person whose gender identity is between genders or a combination of genders.
Neutrois - A person who has a neutral or null gender. Some desire to have a non-gendered body map which can often result in transition while others feel comfortable with their physical sex.
Pangender - A person whose gender identity is comprised of many gender expressions.
Third Gender - Term often used in anthropological studies to set apart identities other than man or woman that appear across different cultures. Can have colonial connotations, use with caution.
Trigender - People who feel they are neither male nor female, but not androgynous either and construct their own gender. Trigender may also be used to refer to one who moves between three genders, as bigender is used to refer to those who move between two genders.
Transmasculine - A term used to describe people who may identify as transgender, they feel closer to masculinity than male.
Transfeminine - A term used to describe people who may identify as transgender, they feel closer to femininity than female.
