"Male lesbian" has always confused me to no end, because, from my perspective, it contains a contradiction. I've always understood the term "lesbian" to mean female who is attracted to or prefers other females romantically or sexually. So how can someone be a male lesbian? Do they mean "woman trapped in a man's body who is attracted to women"? That's the only thing I can figure, but that still leaves me pretty confused, because as trans people, don't we recognize that our core gender, whatever it may be, is our gender? Like how I have a male body, but identify as a woman, because that's what I am on the inside? So that would make me a regular lesbian.
I'd love to hear what the term means to some folks who use it. I've never had it explained to me, which is why I'm left up to my own confusing interpretations.

Can I request that we not add to the (very harmful) idea that gender is about gender stereotypes?

Can I request that we not add to the (very harmful) idea that gender is about gender stereotypes? *feels anxious* Is this in reference to my post? I didn't think it had anything to do with gender roles or stereotypes, but if it was offensive, I'll take it down. Maybe I didn't understand something...

No. It's a reference to some of the descriptions in the list.

Gender questioning may fit. The trouble with these terms is that so many of us fit none, some or other terms. I guess that is why I like FTX, MTX or M2ME.

Can I request that we not add to the (very harmful) idea that gender is about gender stereotypes? Edge, can you please point out which descriptions fall into that category? I would like to edit them but I have difficulty differentiating which labels are assuming gender stereotypes. The only one that jumps out at me is the Crossdresser saying most are heterosexual (men) and only participate in cross-dressing on a part-time basis.

Androgyne - 1. A person whose biological sex is not readily apparent. 2. A person who is intermediate between the two traditional genders. 3. A person who rejects gender roles entirely.Bigender - To identify as both genders and/or to have a tendency to move between masculine and feminine gender-typed behavior depending on context, expressing a distinctly male persona and a distinctly female persona, two separate genders in one body. Gender fluid - Referring to a gender identity that changes with time and/or situation as opposed to a fix sex-role or gender queer expressionGenderFuck - The idea of playing with gender cues to purposely confuse, mix, or combine a culture’s standard or stereotypical gender expressions.Genderqueer - Genderqueer is a term that may be used to describe those with non-normative gender, either as an umbrella term or a stand-alone identity, typically encompassing those who are in one, or more, of these six categories: - both man and woman (example: androgyne)- neither man nor woman (agender, neutrois, non-gendered)- moving between two or more genders (gender fluid)- third gendered or other-gendered (includes those who prefer “genderqueer” or “non-binary” to describe their gender without labeling it otherwise)- having an overlap or blur of gender and orientation and/or sex (girlfags and guydykes)- those who “queer” gender, in presentation or otherwise, who may or may not see themselves as non-binary or having a gender that is queer; this category may also include those who are consciously political or radical in their understanding of being genderqueer
(Source: GenderqueerID.com) I underlined them. Maybe I'm being unfair. After all, there are some people who do think gender is the same as gender roles and expressions. Personally, I find it extremely insulting. Same with the idea of people choosing to be "trans" for politically reasons.

Or some of us fit or feel we fit several. Or maybe that's just me. Satinjoy..nb mtf no op genderqueer genderfluid GenderFreed.... Triune gender physical social spiritual. So, anyone ready to label this one? The fairy is laughing happily... And guess who helped me figure it out... It takes a forum, it takes an open heart. Anyway, the labels amuse. And I have gq as two binaries simultaneous presenting, a bit jarring. But not gf. I present gq by this definition.
