I love Azuki's colors! You find some really pretty girbils. I kind of want a small pet one day, like a hamster or even a guinea pig. Or possibly a sugar glider. But Odin would probably eat them. He gets a little too interested in the ones he sees at pet stores... Thanks! I'd like to find an actual breeder someday, but until then, there's a pet store nearby that gets a wild variety of fur colors and patterns.

Me, my wife and mother in law have 7 cats. Only one belongs to my wife and I. His name is Larry. At night he crawls under the covers with me and cuddles. He is so sweet. Not sure how to do pictures so I will tell you he is a gray w/ a white chest.

The cat that my sister left here. My mom got him a litter box and brought him in when we got the winds from Irma, and he's been hanging out inside since then. (Until my step dad gets home Sunday and kicks him out) He thinks Odin is his best friend. Something tells me Odin doesn't feel the same.

It's beginning to look a lot like... Halloween! (That's supposed to be a pumpkin. The tag was kind of in the way.)

I've got 3 babies at home... Cookie (Mine, Black cat) & Kirby (Partner's, Orange cat) Cookie is a social butterfly! She is NOT happy unless there's people paying a LOT of attention to her. When we have guests, she's getting on every lap, meowing at everyone, likes to walk on our D&D maps when we play... Chase dice... I got her as an abandoned kitten. I was fresh out of an inpatient hospital stay for a mental health crisis and staying with my then boyfriend's mother - we got out of the car, and this kitten was being chased by the neighbor's cats. I called to her, and she literally crawled up my pants to get away from them. We took her around, to see who she belonged to. The neighbor said she had come out of his car after he came home from work, a long way away. So no idea where she was from. But she was lost, and hungry. I basically adopted her on the spot, because 1) I love cats. 2) I love BLACK KITTENS 3) Black cats are least likely to be adopted at shelters (for some weird reason). She's quirky, and I love her. She's so little, everyone thinks she's still a kitten, but she's like 10... Kirby belongs to my partner, and is a big baby. He's the most anxious cat ever. Hates strangers. Took him months to accept me when I started dating his Daddy. But he's the best cat for cuddles - just pick him up and hold him next to you in bed, and you have an instant naptime friend. Sometimes he comes in of his own accord to nap with you himself. in which case, he'll just flop over on your face. He's a big boy, so that's pretty significant. He started showing a lot of neurotic behavior recently, including chewing his belly hair off. The vet recommended we get this pheromone spray that calms cats, and he's been SO CHILL ever since. He even lets STRANGERS pet him now, instead of running away when someone comes to the door. And Hanna! My lazy meatball of a hamster. :3 I got her shortly before my birthday on a lark - I really put no thought into it other than I had missed having small animals around. My last hamster was a dream, and both of my mice were angels. Hanna is... well. Hanna's a bit difficult. Day I brought her home she bit the daylights out of me. But we're pals now. As long as I don't smell like food. She likes being pet, just has no patience for being held. A jumper. She escaped her enclosure once for 24 hours... I found her one night, in the cat's food bowl, greedily filling her cheeks with kibble! The cat just watched her do it. Thankfully he does not view her as he views feral mice (grim findings. ugh.). She's not my perfect match, but I love her quirks anyway. <3 The golden meatball.

He may be slightly spoiled.
I made a soup today. He got some of the vegetable scraps I had. He loves carrots, and apparently loves green beans, too. He wasn't a fan of the zucchini, though.

I'm with the dog. I'll take most veg, but leave the zucchini unless it's in bread! Love his loooooong face. What a handsome pupper.

But then I think I got distracted, or frustrated by my slow internet. I love cats. Kirby looks a lot like one of my cousin's cats who passed away from old age a few years ago. He was very sweet. Odin is the best doggo I've ever had. Right now, he's helping to keep my social anxiety away by forcing me to go outside multiple times a day. And he's perfect for that because he walks nicely on a leash and is well behaved, so he doesn't do things to embarrass me. He just walks along.

Watch with sound.
I caught this the other day. He doesn't ever make noise unless he's REALLY happy, and even then he has only made this noise a handful of times.
This was his reaction the other day when he saw hubby get home from work.

This is the thing on Odin's neck. It looks worse if he scratches it and makes it bleed. But either way, it doesn't look very nice. He was actually pretty calm in the vet's office. Even after being stabbed in the neck with a needle. If he's nervous or unsure, he won't lay down. So... him laying on the floor there says a lot. Lol

Some cute for the day, before I go to bed. Odin loves his rainbow ball thing we got him a couple months ago. That's been his favorite, but he recently broke the squeaker. The store we got it from happened to still have some of their promotional ones left for 2 for $5 so we got him two this time. This was his reaction.

Self care is also sharing pics of the pets... Like Odin and his new friend he made today, Peaches hiding her face, And Garnet hugging my husband while he looks at stuff on the computer.

Anyone tired of seeing or hearing about Odin yet? Lol. Trying to keep him in this thread. My excuse is... he's good for my mental health. Anyway... This happened the other day and I found it really interesting. I've played videos for Odin before, trying to get him interested in different sounds... including other greyhounds. He's never shown any interest in any of those. In fact, it's really hard to get him interested in anything... Although I can usually get him to play at least once a day, now, for a couple minutes. Other than that, he pretty much ignores everything. But then someone shared a video to one of the Facebook groups. Some guy goes a race track and records the daily routines and everything. It's hard to hear in my video, but at one point, he goes up to the track and you can really hear the lure going around... to me, it just sounded like the mechanical squeaking of something that needs to be oiled. But Odin recognized it right away, so I recorded him. When the guy got closer and the sound got louder, and you could hear the other greyhounds whining to chase after it, Odin ran over and tried to figure out how to join them. (Any other time, Odin ignores videos with other dogs. Even other greyhounds. He knew what was going on.) I rarely ever see him look that happy about anything. It's strange... most people see greyhound racing as bad. And, I guess, it's not as bad as it used to be. But I'll still never support it because even if they are treated well, I can't support people using an animal to put bets on. But... that's the only life the dogs know. So they miss it when they retire, and it takes them a long time to adjust to being a pet. I think Odin still isn't really used to it, yet. Sorry, the whole thing fascinates me. Lol. This is definitely not like adopting any other dog. I guess I need to try harder to engage him in new things, so he can be that happy as a pet.
