Sorry for starting a new thread since we already have a happy one and an unhappy one, but a couple things today were polarized if that makes sense and I wanted to talk about them, but didn't know where to put them. First good thing, is the fact that I can get my birth certificate changed. globalnews.ca/news/1842763/new-alberta-policy-makes-it-easier-for-transgender-people-to-change-birth-documents/?hootPostID=b988b0587d5ce0099ca1bf05dc5b171aThe bad part is I first saw this on facebook and made the mistake of reading the comments. Most of them were very hateful. The second good thing is the latest episode of Black Sails. Spoilers ahead. It turns out that Captain Flint was in love with another character before he became a pirate, it ended very badly (he was banished, the other guy was incarcerated in an institution and later died), and he's very broken up about it. It explains a lot about his character and his motivations. It makes perfect sense with the plot and, in fact, some things that weren't clear before now make perfect sense. Not to mention, hey, there's a badass bi pirate who isn't a stereotype (although it's kind of sad that I consider this noteworthy). The bad part is, unfortunately, predictable. A whole bunch of "fans" are complaining about having gay stuff shoved in their faces, how the show is "ruined," how they "ruined" Flint, how it's all contrived (despite fitting with the plot perfectly and being planned from the beginning), how it doesn't make sense with the character (despite Flint's sexuality never being mentioned at all in Treasure Island), how gay men aren't "real men," how there were no homosexuals back then because it was very much taboo (despite homosexuality and bisexuality definitely existing, accepted among pirates, and the attitudes in London are a plot point) etc, etc, ad nauseum. A whole lot of homophbic stuff. And biphobic since they completely disregard that he's bisexual. They had no problem with explicit scenes between Eleanor and Max (both are female), they had no problem with Anne and Max (also both female), they didn't even have a problem when one of the pirates was made fun of for having sex with the dairy goat (which was luckily not shown), but a kiss and tenderness between dudes? Suddenly not ok. Sorry for the rant. As you can see, these two things make me very happy, but people's attitudes about them not so much.

Can't hardly blame your feelings about this Edge, it goes back to that thread where we said "just be real", you can bet that so many of the complainers aren't being real with us or themselves, they no doubt have skeletons in their own closets including gay family members that they make exceptions for and then get pissed at the other homosexuals out there messing up their world.

It amazes me how upset some people get about other people's lives being made better when it will have absolutely no effect on their own lives. How can you be so full of hatred? I don't understand it. You'd think they'd find other things to worry about. E.g., I noticed on that webpage that the temperature in Alberta was -11. If I were in Alberta, that's what I'd be thinking about.
As for what made me happy and unhappy today, I was in the café this morning. They like me in there, and this morning (not for the first time) the manager gave me a free scone. It embarrassed me because (1) although I go in there frequently, I almost never order anything but coffee. It's not like I spend huge amounts of money in there. (2) I didn't really want the scone anyway. I'd already had my breakfast, and I really have to watch how much I eat because I can put on lots of weight in a hurry. But when somebody's showing you they like you, it does make you feel really good.

Celsius or Fahrenheit? If it's Celsius that's actually pretty warm for winter. But yeah, I don't understand why they're making such a big fuss. That's pretty cool that they're being nice to you.

Did nails today. Turned out crap.. 2 hours down the drain. Had to take it all off. Blehhhhh. Not to worry, my friend, you'll get the hang of it. In my old life, I was a chronic nail-biter. Once I came out and started living full-time, that practice stopped. What self-respecting woman is going to be biting her nails all the time? These days I always have them properly shaped and varnished, and I get lots of compliments on them. There's a woman in the post office who's really into nails and she compliments me all the time.
If I can do it, so can you. Practice makes perfect, and practice is easy when you're perfect like you. Right?

Mine are a wreck. And my mind like them clear like Crystal. They break, I take calcium citrate based on posts here, but they tear if I don't recoat every three days. Practice makes....well....doesn't it feel good anyway? I better do mine now. Part of body dysphoria for me, I need them as long as I can grow them.

But the longer they are, the more easily they break. I find, too, that if they're too long, they make typing harder. They don't need to be too long in order to look nice and feminine. If they're nicely shaped and varnished, that's the main thing. You may note that not many women actually look after their nails all that well. So it doesn't really take much work to make an impression. As the woman in the post office said to me one day, "You're always so nicely turned out! Your nails always look so nice!" Honestly, you don't really have to do a whole lot to stand out from the crowd.

Nails boobs butt, fat movement..
Obsessed?
Absolutely...
And forget about vintage lingerie of the seventies.
Yummmm.
I enjoy my female wild sensual part a lot.
Love nails.
Blessings sweeties.

Ya know what Foxy, isn't great when you hear the intake of breath by a cis waitress or a teller or whoever sees the nails, that awesome...they're so pretty or they're so shiny, or how did you do that they're beautiful...? Those are some of the moments I love as living my truth, our truth, I keep the memories in a little treasure box, inside my treehouse, that place of satin, silk and candles and incense, that place we all share together. The fairy blows a kiss, a good memory or two, triggered by h'er forum friends. The little things that change a day, little joys in trans. Thanks for that dears.

My thigh muscles are hurting pretty good today. If that bit of toting heavy things down the stairs yesterday did that to them, then I'm glad I am getting that sort of workout while doing stuff around the house.
still hurts though, lol.

still hurts though, lol. Muscles atrophy rather quickly from hormones, age and being too sedentary. I can sure attest to that! The soreness comes from tearing which is ok as it's part of the process of getting them shaped back up again.
