Now this is interesting. Sometimes I think its cool to dig up an old thread just to see the progress made.
New job. Out to only two, and now only one as having gender dysphoria. I met with the personnel guy with the intent to get insurance contact so I can work outside the system to determine what I will disclose and how I am going to handle getting endo treatment, injections, and other coverage. I am not thrilled with getting new people medically.
Anyway, on a friends sage advice, I went in to the personnel guy, the one that saw that box that I drew in where it says male or female and I wrote "other", and I told him I was DES converted, had gender dysphoria, that with DES it is progressive and kicks your butt in your 50s and 60s when dysphoria becomes excruciating. I present at the new place as a guy, I comb my short female haircut straight back and spray it down. Looks just like the italian guys only its longer and doesnt really hold well, I look sort of disshevled at times.
So anyway I cut the guy into the loop, told him the truth. Told him I thought I hide it well but he needed to know in case someone sees somethign and says, Hey whats up with P------? (real, male name).
His response?
Oh the look of horror on his face. But I did have better hair than he did....
His response, really, and he was really aghast at the DES deal, and I told him I take hormones and thats why I need to talk to an independant agent, so we can have an insurance strategy.
But as to me having gender dypshoria and not being a male or female gender, he said "As far as I am concerned its not an issue and has no effect on the business. And its nobody else's business so don't worry about it."
I like this guy. Steady as sh'e goes....or they. Whatever....lol.
I'm staying stealth. But I'm not going to worry much about my nails and rings either.
Coool. Hope I can hold onto this job. Skill requirements here are crazy tough.
