So I finally got around to seeing it. I know I'm wildly late but I'm very curious what you all thought of it.
As someone who usually has a lot to say about these kind of things, I find myself weirdly blocked about this film. On reflection, it struck me that the feminist message is very strong and kind of melancholy. (The guy asking to be a supreme court judge in the final scenes and being delighted at the chance that he might get something on the lower circuit was just one of those poignant moments.) That traditional feminist message doesn't get enough airplay these days. Even though there is nothing new here, the message certainly still needs to get out there. The theatre of watching folks on the religious right reacting to it was very telling.
All this being said, I have to say it was wildly binary in ways that made me feel disconnected. I didn't identify with a single person in the film which is odd for me.

Like everything the right touches, they ruined the movie for everyone and forever.

This ^ If anything, I identified most with the Barbie that had the hair cut off and was all beat up. I hated that movie, Suicide Squad is more my style. The Matrix is still my favorite and of course I identify with Trinity.
