How is everyone keeping their heads during the outrageous attacks and demonization of trans by the republican party?
-Personally I'm basically standing my own ground, out, nonbinary, vocal, but just living my own life. But the rage still hits me from time to time and I trigger easily, and the fear part is pretty bad. Medicare is going to force me to join insurance as a male, so I'll have to fight for hormones and breast exams, take it as it comes, I fear I'll lose any of those rights in the next election, in Florida most of our civil God given rights have been stripped already.
Its basically seeing the same bullies from high school in political power being bullies, IMO, or else they are totally blind to who we really are.
It enrages me though, with the harm they are causing especially to trans youth, it is despicable.
And the hijacking of the Christian faith by the republican party, dictating what that faith is supposed to be based on the model of a tyrant and a criminal, really sets me off.
Anyway, how are you, or we, keeping our sanity and our mental health through all of this?
The secret of life is outlasting the bullshit.
And facing it, I guess.
Mostly though its taking care of ourselves, I think, not letting a political party steal our God from us by insisting we can't have Him, being true to ourselves if we can, while staying safe as well. Believing God can take care of us and will, in spite of what those who hate us want or want us to think, because they are not God.
I have to fight it every day, personally, to keep from falling into the rage or the sadness. The fear is not a good thing either.
These are dark times, there's a madman with nukes killing innocents because he can, another one trying to take over the world, a third starving the people and also having nukes, and then theres the media, which is pure poison.
Makes me want to withdraw from the world.
I don't like what I see at all. Not any of it.
First rule of bad management, blame and demonize someone else so that they don't look at what you are doing. As to the religious, I think they just don't get it and completely missed what the Love of God means, that is very troubling. They should be loving others and helping feed them, instead of forcing their will on them and trying to kill them. I pray their eyes are opened and they apologize and make reparation, but I think its gone too far and it won't happen.
I wish that the truth would be out there and emphatically stated, trans as far as I am concerned is a medical thing. Attacking the weak and the vulnerable with no regard for the medical truth is beyond ignorance and stinks of bigotry and hatred, for political gain.
I sincerely hope that the Independents in this country run from this and boot out those who are perpetuating this fearsome tragedy.
