I'm 62 and have been a professional level dancer etc etc and my body is taking a dive, and so is my mind.
I think the two are actually much more linked. And in the performing arts its kind of an axiom that when you get older what took hours to recover from takes days.
The other one is that if you let up on anything, its a lot harder to get it going, and you can quickly lose the game.
Thats the old age bitching. Now for the point....
What are the things that you do for your body and your mental health to stay healthy?
Right now for me its long walks with the wife, and playing guitar. Prayer in the morning, the challenge is getting enough sleep which is vital, staying away from news, and guarding against obsessive thinking (my brain locks on stuff a lot).
Re-creation, which I don't get enough of. Joyrides, which are great, in a vintage Camaro.
There's a lot that I do for myself and it helps. But what are the things that you do to make life happy and the body as well?

You are what you eat. The easiest and best thing you can do for yourself is to make sure that your diet is plant based, stop eating so much damn meat all the time, you don't need even a tenth of it and it causes digestion problems that most things like depression is very much there because of this simple thing, a healthy gut is the number one thing that is going to keep you healthy more than everything else combined. Walking, just plain old mosey along walking is great for you, you don't need to over exert yourself in a gym full of machines, unless you want to build muscle mass, just plain old walking a couple miles a day is as good as working out a couple hours a day to stay healthy. Consider that walking is a great way to just free your thinking up, one thing that separates the greatest thinkers from the rest is that they consistently walked a couple miles a day, walked to work and back. Taking in a nice trail in some naturist part of your neighborhood is a communion with yourself, just taking it in and stopping the worrying that everywhere else is causing you and you do, just taking the time to hear the world around you, see the world around you, stop being a hurry to get somewhere as if hurrying is going to give you more time, take the time to slow down, realize that you are never going to make up for lost time, take everyday as yet another adventure and just stop bitching about the world as you see it, just calm yourself down. Life isn't going to hell, just you are the more you constantly believe it is. Take the time to slow down and go for a walk, eat better foods that are closer to healthy than you do, and stop eating those damn packaged foods that you just heat and serve, add water and nothing else, and yes, drink more water, and filter the shit that comes from the faucet, especially if you live in the city or burbs, even the great water from your private well is probably not all that safe to drink for year after year, just use common sense and spend the few bucks for a good water filter system, it is essential that you stop poisoning yourself with what you drink, same for your food, wash that shit you get from the store, and stop shopping for the best deals of the day if it means saving a couple bucks or eating healthy, saving those bucks might get you a better funeral, maybe... Trying to save money by buying crap for food is a lot like driving around for an hour trying to find the gas prices that save you a buck on a tankful, you just wasted time and gas trying to save and stop driving around in the parking lot hoping that someone will leave that spot close to the door, park out in the boonies and walk, just that alone is going to be better for you than all the pissed off driving in circles hoping to get that choice spot before the other fool driving in circles gets it, stop being so pissed off all the time, eat right, take your time with a decent long walk a few times a week, drop your stress levels.

Not enough I don't do any sports and since March I barely move at all. It's just going up and down the stairs and short walks to the playground... What I do do: - not going to bed too late - eat enough vegetables - eat enough in general - if it's before 21.00 and everything is ready I must fo something that's not on my phone or television. Like reading or working on a jigsaw puzzle or writing - don't read newsarticles that make me very worried or sad, like about refugees and climate change or people I think I go to hell - trying to go outside each day - be kind to myself
