coming out and finding help in real life

I came out to some close friends yesterday. We live spread all over germany, so I texted them. I wrote that I am nonbinary and trans and am not out to family and job yet, but that I need some people to know and talk. I also asked them to help me pick a name because I feel at the moment that I really need a new name, but it is so hard to decide so I thought it would be cool to have some feedback and ideas from friends.
One friend already answered me, and she wrote something like this: Always remember, the most important thing is that you are able to be happy with yourself. Sacrificing this for the assumed happiness of others will leave you in the end burnt out and empty. That's why it is important that you go your way.
I instantly cried after reading this. Because she is right... and I really have to get this around my head.
And I am so lucky. Lucky to have all those great people supporting me.
