I'm scared.
Its the middle of my 62nd year and in the last few years I feel it slowing down more and more. And it's getting worse.
It's like, the changes matter some on the dysphoria side, because the face is aging now. Its harder to lose the weight, there is less energy, naps are longer and I wobble when I get out of bed.
Old injuries hurt, the hand isn't healing as well as I want it to with the thumb injury. Its harder to dance and it takes a full day of recovery after doing anything physical.
Half my wifes siblings are dead, and she is declining visibly in front of me and it scares the living piss out of me.
We are fighting it, but it seems we have crossed the line where each day is a battle to not just lie down, and to live to the hilt with what energy is left.
The old warrior is still there, but there is also a practical side, this last few weeks there were some wins, to be sure, on that front.
As deeply religious as I am, as in belief and faith, I am still afraid and I don't want to die, and I know it could be decades before I do, but the fears and the dealing with denial and acceptance have finally hit me.
What do we know about this? Trans isn't even a thing, I am who I am, and fight for it. There are some physical needs there, but its all shifted in terms of what matters.
I still have so much work to do and so much I have to do just to survive and get the money to live with, I have five more years until retirement if I can hold out that long, trying to.
No wonder folk retire at 62. Its not so much permanent vacation as it is you just can't keep on going anymore. And yet, so many of us have to, these are hard times for so many.
Just looking for ways to cope with this and fight the aging process, and accept the inevitability of what is going on. Denial is great, until you can't make it through the day without a nap, and it takes a half hour to get your engine running.

You are what you eat, seriously, the thing that makes the biggest difference when you are getting older is to drop the old eating habits and pick up the healthy ones that can change everything for you. It took me a year or so to be able to stop the cravings for things I shouldn't be eating because they are older peoples death sentence, no red meat, barely even any chicken and pork is a thing of the past. A lot of people are scared to eat whole eggs, but the benefits outway what little cholesterol you might get from one or two a day, the yolk is loaded with cholesterol but it is loaded with the good and the bad, its a wash basically. The nutrient values are off the charts compared to most everything else, but on the flip side, its packed with usable protein, its basically the food source for chickens until they hatch, there is very little that is wasted in it. Cholesterol is a huge thing to worry about, but if you cut out meat in general, never ever eat bacon again and forget red meat, its what keeps your intestines from doing what they need to do, get fat content from olive oil, extra virgin if you want it to be better, but any vegetable oil is better than meat fats, load olive oil into everything, stop using butter and throw away margarine, neither of those are any good for you, I use olive oil like I would butter to cook with and even on toast, its hardly even a flavor thing, but it isn't bad tasting at all. You can get benefits from just drinking a few spoonfuls everyday, don't buy prepackaged food stuff if there is anything you don't know exactly what it is in the list of ingredients, above all, cut sugar down to the bare minimum, salt is not as bad as they make it out to be if used sparingly. But packaged foods use a ton of both to an flavor from the salt, once you get used to not eating that shit you realise how salty packaged food is, and sugar for the addiction qualities it has, it adds little to the real flavor but its addictive properties is really high, the reason they keep adding it. Eat raw or warmed up vegetables, and fruits that are dark colored are always good, berries like blueberries and black raspberries and dark red grapes, all are like suore foods for what you get from them. If you think stuff like fresh fruit and veggies are expensive, wait until you stop spend all your cash on packaged foods, those you eat more of because empty calories, fruits and veggies are not, you eat less and are not craving food all the time when you choose to eat as healthy as possible, When you are not wasting money on crap packaged foods and spent it on what is truly healthy, you spend less money and don't feel hungry as much, and for god sake stop drinking anything that has sugar fructose and the like in it, don't drink fruit juice thinking it is healthy, it is to only a certain extent, but it lacks fiber and you have to have that in the foods you eat, you have to get rid of the bad crap bugs in your gut and replace them with the good ones, the current thinking is that much of depression is because your gut is infested with the bad, you change your diet and it will go back to a better and good amount of the good bugs, gut health is the defining line between being healthy and not, its a have to do thing, and fiber plays a huge part in that, it flushes out a lot of the bad and leaves room for the good to them flourish. The biggest problem with the health of the people in this country isn't the lack of food, its in what they eat, going for the easy isn't always the best choice, but it isn't hard as you might think to change your diet as you get older, and if you are younger, doing it now has huge benefits when you do get older. There is no reason to eat red meat or pork, chicken isn't even healthy but it is compared to beef and pork, its empty calories for the most part, some protein but with a healthy diet you get all that you need, eat an egg or two and you have more than the daily requirements, a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter, and to make that healthy, just mix in a little olive oil to offset the shit oil they use in place of peanut oil, they take the oil out of it because they can sell it on the side and make more money and replace it with for shit oils, olive oil can offset much of that. The so called Mediterranean diet is really good because it incorporates a lot of olive oil, use it with whole vinegar for salads if you just gotta have that on them, cut the sugar and never buy store salad dressing again, its loaded with sugar and just crap in general, you make the real stuff easily. But getting serious about your diet is a have to do thing when you get older and probably the best decision you will make when younger, especially if you plan on getting older, look into what is good for you and what is bad for you, once you get used to the sugars being cut out and less salt and making real food instead of that packaged garbage that in the long run costs a lot more, you will eat less and have all the calories you need, you won't feel hungry or even want sweets but if you do, fricken fresh fruit works better than sugar drinks that are killing you, one bottle of soda pop like pepsi or coke has more sugar than you could or would just sit with a spoon and an open bag of the shit, you'd seriously puke if you tried, like think about dumping thirty or more spoonfuls of sugar into water and drinking it, when you see it for what it is, you stop drinking it, high fructose corn syrup is deadly and should be outright banned and made illegal, same as they have basically done with trans fats, while the package food industry made the claims that the end of times would be here if they banned that shit, its pretty hard to even find it anymore, so stop eating beef and pork and most of the chicken you eat and if you do eat chicken, take the fricken fatty skin off and throw it, fry it up in a little olive oil and its just fine except you don't need it, its a protein source but then most everything is that you eat, some just better than others and if you look it up, you really don't need that much, but you do need enough and there is some indication that when you get older, you need a higher percentage in your diet, in other words, nuts and that stuff because meat is really hard to digest, especially if your gut is working right and if it is, then eating meat just makes it turn bad again because it doesn't pass through fast enough, you waste precious energy and nutrients needed elsewhere to get the stuff back out of you body and in the meantime, it screws up your gut again. When you eat healthy, you eat a lot less and don't feel hungry and so you spend less on the important foods and you don't even see the packaged food anymore, the meat aisle looks like the night of the living dead, a battlefeild of fresh kill, the veggie and fruits aisles become the focus and when you figure it out that you can afford the good stuff when you stop buying the bad stuff, it isn't about spending money at the store, it becomes like an adventure of what's fresh and this might be good to try and your in and out of the place in no time, and what used to be a shopping cart full of food become bags of food for the week.
