I went to get my bloods checked, and my hormone levels are fine, which is good.
But they took my blood pressure, last week and this week, and it's high. So they're going to check it again next week, and if it's still high they'll do an ECG, and the nurse said possibly the doctor will review my medication because the medication might be causing the high blood pressure.
I'm really worried now that they might stop my hormones if my blood pressure is too high. I don't want to come off hormones. I don't want to face that depression again. I don't want my feminisation to cease.
Hormones have been the best thing that's ever happened to me. I don't want it to stop.
I'm really worried. They can't make me come off hormones, can they?

Not sure if HRT can affect blood pressure, but there are a lot of factors, including being nervous.
I had mine taken at the dentist awhile back and it was high. They asked if I was nervous and of course I was because I had a chipped tooth with an exposed nerve and knew what was going to happen would be painful and expensive. Try to be as calm as possible for your next appointment, easier said than done I know.

Yeah I always get nervous when I have my blood pressure taken. It's annoying, because then the thing happens that I'm worried about.

Yeah I always get nervous when I have my blood pressure taken. It's annoying, because then the thing happens that I'm worried about. The fear has to be nuts with this and that would drive your pressure up. I dont know if its linked to pressure, but I would think meds changes to control the bp is the andwer, not a life threatening taking away of your hormones. Most docs should understand that. Id rather be dead than go off hrt. So I get you. Stick to your guns. Going off hrt is not an option for me. They have to weigh the consequences, its more than medical, and hormones arent just to get our boobs.

Just got back to this, hormones in general aren't a reason a person gets high blood pressure. T maybe, but E? its kinda the opposite, you should be a more mellow person from E. But they aren't going to cut you off, it makes no sense to do that, the underlying cause is what they need to find and they can. At the worse, you might get a med for it, but it's in the most of all the other things you get from Drs that can cause high blood pressure, side effects from the stuff they give you for the side effects of that other stuff you get. I wouldn't worry about your E, you might be worried about some other med if you take them, or you might have to adjust your life to lower it, and just dishing out more meds isn't a cure, its a cover it up thing. So they usually will go the route to figure it out if it stays up there, but having high readings isn't a big deal for some, it's bad for some people, but then they have other things wrong that it just makes worse. A change in lifestyle is usually the best way to bring it down, but a couple times of high is nothing, if it is high for like a bunch of them over a period of time like months, then it might be. I just got back from seeing my Dr and her nurse went over my high BP for everytime I go there and I had to tell her that it generally is like that, and taking the meds to lower it usually just make it so low its a problem. There is a pretty big area of where your reading can be and you aren't in any trouble, but it can be an indicator of something that needs to be looked at, but that number threshold thing they use is bogus. Some people have high BP all the time and some have low, the range is a lot bigger than they let on, and rightly so, if it is a sudden change, then there is likely something that needs to be done. But taking your own BP at anywhere that you can, there is usually a few handy places and even getting it done in the lobby of the Dr isn't unheard of, borrow a machine from them if they do that. I wouldn't worry about it, its an indicator and it isn't necessarily a definite one, and worrying just makes it worse. Know how they say we all have to cut back on our salt intake? High sodium is bad for a small percentage of people, and mine is always right in the range and my intake scares people who see it. And it isn't the salt itself, it's the things that it can aggravate that you already had to begin with, so never crossing the street because you might get hit by a car is the wrong way, the right way is to just make sure a car isn't coming. My Dr keeps telling me that I need to get these cancer tests done, and I ask why and she says so I can live longer, if I live that long, dementia won't let me remember that there was this cancer thing, and besides, I'm not going to die from it, I'd die before it got that bad. I'd really have to go all out on the daring deadly but fun as hell things that a person can do, because I sure as hell ain't going to sit and wait to die, I want to see it coming right at me so I can decide when I die.

Thought I'd update about this.
My doctor said high blood pressure is over-diagnosed in my age group, and said he thought it was nerves leading to high blood pressure. He recommended I get a machine and check my blood pressure at home. Which I did.
I've only checked it once at home (I should get into the habit of doing it regularly). But it was normal when I did it.

Hi, Pleased to make your acquaintance here. I would like to share.
There are so many reasons for hbp. I've dealt with it for over 15 years. Hydrochlorothiozide was first, (are you taking that?). It's a diuretic, and my doc added lisinopril soon after; that managed it for quite a while.
I've been low-t all my adult life, and about 12 years ago started ht. It was a low dose, just to help with energy. I did get more hair and that's annoying.
I'm sharing this to ask about meds you may be trying? I also wanted to mention spironolactone.
I started that about 8 years ago when my hb went haywire. I have an adrenal gland issue, and there's no etymology, however the nephrologist I saw diagnosed it, and prescribed Spiro. I didn't have a high dose, it was about the lowest at 50mg. I changed last year to a New one with the same hb lowering results.
The Spiro is the main reason I wanted to share. It's a blood pressure med and can help suppress testosterone.
I'm new here, but have been a trans ally for over 4 years online and other. I wish you the best.

Just got back to this, hormones in general aren't a reason a person gets high blood pressure. T maybe T doesn't cause high blood pressure. Too high doses can cause the hematocrit to reach unhealthy levels, though. That makes the blood thicker, and in turn makes a higher pressure necessary in order to move the blood around. But T isn't the direct cause of it, and it is often treated by donating or letting blood rather than ceasing ht.
