So I have some hair and dysphoria and vanity issues.
Go figure, right?
Wondering who has wigs, and what their experience is with them.
I may go later, at more length. I'm in the office working, with that new wig on, training it to side part instead of center which doesn't work for me.
But the thing that is jumping out for me is the difference in comfort between human hair (expensive and long lead time to get) and the partial or synthetic wigs I have had.
The human hair is definitely worth the money. It looks more real, it doesn't seem to itch, and it can be worked with much easier for styling.
As to mine here today, the look is kind of shocking in a way.
Wigs have been my friend, but my real hair is a lot better really, when it works.
That is short, has a lot of silver highlights, and now that its grown for a number of weeks, it actually looks pretty cool.
Hugs all.
But wanted to shair about the diff with the human hair. Right now I'd say its night and day, huge diff.

By the way, with all the feedback I had, from everywhere, I'm going to keep rocking my real hair, the short ones. But I like the wig behind closed doors. It just feels good.

I like that wig on you!
I don't really have any that I like, though I haven't tried more expensive synthetic ones, much less human hair ones. They all seem to have like way too much hair for me. I guess some cis women do have that much hair, but I didn't when I was a teenager and had it long, and was pretty happy with it. That a lot of cis women seemed to like it too might have something to do with that...

I guess some cis women do have that much hair, but I didn't when I was a teenager and had it long, and was pretty happy with it. That a lot of cis women seemed to like it too might have something to do with that... It feels strange on me, more than the longer ones. I might eventually get one of the long ones, human hair on the least expensive side they go for about 250US. Thanks for the compliment It's kind of hard to get the side part. I've aged to that awkward place where hair either is obvious dyed, or wigs are obvous for what they are. But, most older cis women that wear them have the same issues and situations. Its interesting, because more and more I identify as neither male nor female, I just know that I am my own thing, its trans, not female and not male, trans. This transitioned body, and my brain, and what's down below too, I see as trans. Hence, nonbinary. When I see the pic, I see trans. When I see it without the wig, like the one with the guitar or the other one I had up, I don't see trans. I see Trinity, me. Subtle, but most likely important, difference.

One of the tells that it is a wig is the style. The side part and the lot of hair that goes over the forehead looks like it is hiding the edge of the wig, which it does. But that doesn't always mean it is a wig, I see the style and know it isn't a wig on some. But the big drawback is the limits to styling, the more money you pour into a wig, the more you can get away with different styles. I see the wigs when the wind blows and they haven't bombed the front with gel or spray, it looks real because it moves like real. I have to use stuff on the sides of my head because wind from behind gives me that same look as Doc on back to the future. But looks really good and the color fits. Really changes the look of who you are, more passing I would say from the pic.

Wigs never feel comfortable for me, even though I really like the idea of being able to change color and style at will. I’ve been growing my hair out for most of the past year, and when I decided to start, I just went to my hairdresser and told her my plan. She stated with a cute pixie cut, and keeps cutting into cute styles that will eventually grow out into the long hair that I’m dreaming of! And as far as coloring your hair, I’m one that just goes for it. My short pixie cut was dyed teal. My hair in my avi is purple. And now it’s dark brown with copper/purple highlights. If it’s gonna look like it’s dyed, just go for it and have fun with the color. It’s just like, my opinion, man
