Bill Maher's comment about the Vagina Monologue and TG women.

Recently Bill Maher made a statement that transgender women claim to hate Eve Ensler's "Vagina Monologue" as they think that
somehow it diminishes transgender women. 

My own question about that is WTF is the matter with transgender women that they would make such a divisive public statement that Bill Maher
would pick up on it and blow it all over the nation's airwaves? Seems pretty stupid to me like cutting off their hands and feet because they look too big and mannish or having surgery to shorten their legs because they are too tall!

Why do these effing MtF morons draw so much negative attention to themselves and then continue to piss and moan about not being accepted by society?

And on the topic, I do think some trans activists throw unnecessary fits over silly things. Its like if they aren't included in everything about females, its an attack on their identity as women. If that identity is that fragile, then maybe they need to go back to the drawing board on it.

Yes Bill is gay, whenever he goes places where he needs a woman friend he brings Ariana Huffington, she is fond of gay men and was married to a gay man at one time. Not a big deal, Bill doesn't advertise it like some of the Hollywood luminaries or major sports figures do just like we don't broadcast that we are trans, I respect that!

I know who Bill Maher is. I've watched some clips from his show. He seems like a decently entertaining comedian, but I'm not terribly familiar with him. I didn't know he was gay, either. Kind of shocked if that's actually the case.

So what are The Vagina Monologues and what's the issue with them?

Its an episodic play about vaginas. You can read the script here.

And the issue is that it apparently isn't inclusive enough to include women without vaginas, ie non-op or pre-op trans women. A huffington post article about it is here.

Well, I read the article. From what I understood, the decision was made because the people involved didn't feel comfortable with the content of the play. I saw no mention of this being because anyone trans complained. So I fail to see how this reflects badly on us.

I don't know if anyone trans complained or not, it was decided by the student run theater board that it was not inclusive enough, that it had a narrow definition of what a woman was and it didn't include woman without vaginas. That particular school only recently started allowing trans women to attend, so maybe they were erring on the side of caution and not wishing to alienate anyone. I think it was a bit overboard. They don't need to try and make every thing like that all inclusive of every potential type of person that may exist somewhere.

The issue in this topic is that even if it not us complaining, the appearance is not good. Its like anything that could define something in the binary way is wrong and that it should be abolished to appease us. And it could cause kickback, much like is going on against a lot of non-discrimination laws and potential for nd laws. And in some instances, it just creates an issue where there shouldn't even be one. Kind of like the trouble with pool in the music man, lol. Some people creating an issue to push their own agenda or just trying to sell something...

Sorry I popped your bubble about Bill Sweet Pea, but hey Jewish guys can be gay too! Anyway you've been doing a stellar job of covering this story and as we all know it's not about Bill being gay but about the transsexual comment. This was the first time I heard it for real outside of a second hand comment about it by a morning radio talk show host and thought it would make for interesting fodder here for all us pussies.
