Has anyone gotten top surgery in North America? My provincial plan (OHIP) covers a double mastectomy, but I want the inverted-T style procedure, and no one in Canada affiliated with OHIP seems to do that form. I've found a surgeon named Dr Mosser in San Francisco who seems amazing (even refers to the surgery as FtM/N whereas most places assume the surgery is for binary trans men).
I am mostly wondering if anyone here has had top surgery in North America, where you had it done, and if you were satisfied!

Sorry I haven't seen this until now, Avery! Chase Ross and Aaron Ansuini from YouTube, they were both from Canada and they didn't like how the top surgeon in Canada does top surgery, they went with Dr. Garramone in Florida as they wanted a very particular look of chest for themselves. Chase was just slightly disappointed that his scars didn't end up being straight but slightly curved. Otherwise, him and Aaron are very happy with how their chest came out. Micah, a non-binary who got top surgery, they got the T-style procedure. I'm pretty sure they went with Dr. Paul M Steinwald in Chicago. They went to a informed consent doctor to get a letter (I assume) and the informed consent letter assures the surgeon that the patient is of sound mind and consents to the procedure. It seems the surgeon must be more than happy to perform on FTN (as well as FTM) folks. Scott Mosser seems like an excellent candidate as well, he has secured himself as one of the leading top surgeons for top surgery, as he started doing it when none of the other doctors were willing to. 90% of his patients who enter his clinic are there for gender reaffirming surgery. genderqueer.me/2017/07/18/fv-redefining-patient-doctor-relationship/ <- this is Micah's article on Dr Mosser, you can also look at Micah's blogs about top surgery. (I'm not sure if you've seen this website from research already, if so, please ignore )

Thanks Jacey! These are great I will definitely look them up.
I'm hoping to get my referral forms signed by a doctor this week, then I just have to wait the 3 months for the provincial health insurance people to decide... I'm attaching a bunch of non-required documentation and a personal statement to try and convince them to send me to San Francisco. I may upload it here to get a second opinion, we'll see !
