Any tips and tricks for make-up?
Lessons I've learned: Not to poke my eye with the mascara!
Practice makes perfect - to start with, I couldn't do a winged cat eye with eyeliner, now I can get it right (see my avatar) It's not perfect but I know I'll get better!
Things that baffle me:
Lip liner, what is its purpose...? To slay the lippy (lipstick) from making a mess when you smooch someone on the cheek?
Highlight and contouring - does this really alter the way someone looks?
Do you have favorite eye shadow colors? Do you like to experiment with different colors? What about lipstick colors? I will be experimenting with red and gold eyeshadow with red and purple gradient lipstick for my demon outfit! I can't wait!

Any tips and tricks for make-up?
Lessons I've learned: Not to poke my eye with the mascara! Throw out old mascara and get fresh periodically as it can turn into a petrie dish-like situation and give nasty eye infections.
Practice makes perfect - to start with, I couldn't do a winged cat eye with eyeliner, now I can get it right (see my avatar) It's not perfect but I know I'll get better! Pretty cool, I don't do makeup, did once but it's not really me.
Things that baffle me:
Lip liner, what is its purpose...? To slay the lippy (lipstick) from making a mess when you smooch someone on the cheek? Kind of like paint by numbers in the borders type of thing. It's nice for old gals especially that have old age lines radiating away from their lips, it keeps the lipstick from traveling.
Highlight and contouring - does this really alter the way someone looks? Yes indeed, great way to minimize a nose that's too broad or change the looks of a moon shaped face to make it appear more heart shaped.
Do you have favorite eye shadow colors? Do you like to experiment with different colors? What about lipstick colors? I will be experimenting with red and gold eyeshadow with red and purple gradient lipstick for my demon outfit! I can't wait! We will be expecting photos of course!

for your eyeliner, use an small angled brush and a gel liner or dark eyeshadow. Gives you way more controls on the wings.

It's always worth investing in a set of make up brushes too

lol, most of the time when I tell people that gel with an angled brush is great stuff, someone comes along and argues against it in favor of liquid or something. I love gel, its easy, you can control it well with little pressure and its not messy. My sister in law got me to try it about 7 years ago. I hardly use it anymore, but I still keep it around.
I should probably one night just make my self up real nice and show what I look like, maybe it won't turn out like Mimi Bobeck.

I like using a dark shade or eye shadow for super dramatic eyes

I don't use eye liner a lot - unless it is a special event. I have never tried gel, What's a good brand? Go talk to them at Saphora at Alderwood Mall, they'll get you fixed up hon!

I need to find a concealer and makeup for my cheeks, one side is much redder than the other.?
The thing that scares me most about makeup, added on to everything else, is I'll end up taking 2 hours to get ready to go somewhere..

Concealer does an excellent job of covering up blemishes, I use it whenever my skin flares up with redness, works like a treat!
It used to take me ages to put on make-up, now it takes me 15-30 minutes at the very most. I don't think you have to worry about taking two hours to get ready, unless you want to be very particular with your makeup

Yeah even super complex stuff takes me less than half an hour. I occasionally do fx stuff and that takes a bit more time, but that's like next level make up

All of the above. You can use it to accentuate some of your better parts and draw attention away from some of your imperfections. In the eighties out of five supposed badass musicians that pooled thier money together the little trans girl was the only one that had to balls to go somewhere and learn how to use it. I then had to teach the others. But yeah practice makes perfect just like anything else. Just try to match everything to your skin tones, eye color and hair color unless you want to look like I did in the eighties which was pretty much like every other musician in hair metal or glam rock or whatever you want to call it. It was way too much. The mascara is easy, be careful with the eyeliner. The older you get though less is more. Well I still slther it on like a french whore on Sunday depending on who I am playing with. Some tribute bands nowdays and that is always fun and a walk down memory lane from what I remember from that street.
