Me too, I hate being in the same place as someone who seems to have bathed in perfume, it makes my eyes smart and constricts my breathing and I have sneezing fits, it is extremely thoughtless of others. Some perfumes react differently than intended with some people's PH and they end up smelling like a skunk.

In High school, when the girls would smoke cigarettes in the toilets, they would spray themselves with perfume to cover up the smell.

The overused perfume smell was gag-inducing but even then, you could still smell the cigarettes. It was not a pleasant experience, they were kidding themselves if they thought perfume could disguise the smell of ciggies!

Some of them I'm highly allergic to. Others it takes someone who uses to much to get a bad reaction.
Still other ones that I don't notice at all. The bad ones though... my breathing becomes restricted, dizziness and general confusion kicks in.
I've been in the ER because of those damn people who used to spray it in front of you when you walked into Dept. stores.
Doesn't seem to make much difference if it is for men or women, some are just really bad.
But even the ones that are totally bad for me, if it is used very lightly, just noticeable up close, it usually isn't much of a problem.
If it fills the room within a couple minutes from when they walk in, in public places from stores to bars, it's way to much.
I've had to frantically push the button to get out on the next floor in elevators because of some of them.
Seriously, if it is more than a very light scent, you are using way to much.
Seems like the manufacturers have been able to take out a lot of the things that are toxic to some, I haven't had to many problems in the last ten years or so.
But just the same, they are so much more effective as a light scent than using them to the extent that it is the only thing anyone can smell when you are in the same room with them.

I'm slightly allergic to most perfumes too. What about deodorant? Lately, I've been wearing Lady Speed Stick, and I know some people have to notice, as it has a distinct scent.

I seldom wear anything scented, and favor old spice. No perfume, it doesn't feel...me...

The estrogen eliminates most bo.

Favorite wife perfume...obsession. drives me wild.

Scent is a powerful memory trigger. A mood stater, setter.

Old spice, and other guy cologne. I like wearing that. And the kiss I'll get for wearing it.
