The healthcare deal? I have to take a physical every two years and it is kind of humiliating because in order to drive a truck I have to wear nothing but a paper gown or strip down when the doctor gets into the room. They also ask you to bend down and spread your cheeks to check for hemorrhoids. You also have to turn you head and cough. I tell them upfront that I am trans and or metrosexual at least. They act like no big deal and I absolutely abhor body hair everywhere . Sometimes I may have a little landing strip or at least well trimmed but after a 1/4 inch I can't take it anymore. Yeah I know too much information. I think doctors could care less and you are just another human being unless the doctor is an asswipe and needs to have their license to practice medicine pulled. So no. I don't really see healthcare for trans as an issue in normal general health situations. No reason to be embarrassed about grooming habits or being transgender. Just remember doctor patient privilege and the Hippocratic Oath. If it ever gets out then you can sue the hell out of them. As for mental health though, I believe all therapists should have at least a little knowledge in the trans issues. Most either do or can refer you to another therapist that has more of a working knowledge in gender issues. But I pay out of pocket instead of using private health insurance or Obamacare or even in a country that has a national healthcare system I would still pay out of pocket. No one needs to know my business let alone any government entities or bureaucrats so cash is king.
