OK I will admit that I was wrong and sorry. So with that said, I have been touting about the old double blade Venus that I had with the wide handle from the late '90s. Well it finally broke on me and I went and got the Venus Swirl. OMFG. The differences are astounding. To my defense the last time I tried a five bladed razor it really screwed my skin up with razor burn, big time irritation and all of that. That was a few years ago. This new one with the five blades I still use the conditioner and men's shaving cream but no irritation what so ever. Super close shave. I have some problem spots on my legs that was always prone to getting nicks and cuts. Right under the knees was one and the ankles closer to my feet was another one. Plus the knees just because and the occasional bug bite or ingrown hair. This razor glides over all the problem areas with no nicks, cuts or irritation. Works really good on the face too. So if anyone was crazy enough to listen to what I said about the two blade razors then I am sorry for the irritation, nicks and cuts you may have suffered through. But I would suggest it even to guys that only shave their face because it really is a more comfortable shave.

How do you use the conditioner and men's shaving cream? I've been using Skintimate everywhere lately, even my face. I can't imagine going back to men's shaving cream. I used it like once in the last year, when I was traveling, had a little travel size Edge or something. I remember it burning and smelling horrible.

Just regular men's shaving cream or even women's shaving cream. I do not like the gels though.
First just wet your skin with hot or warm water and rub a little bit of conditioner over it. Then just apply the shaving cream over the conditioner. The conditioner allows for extra lubrication and it doesn't take much. But I would definitely leave the disposable razors alone though.

I forgot to say do not forget about a good moisturizer after. Shaving takes away the moisture because you are actually scraping it off with a sharp blade. So I will skimp on the shaving cream a little and sometimes use soap or shampoo along with a good conditioner but the moisturizing lotion never. Also instead of conditioner, you can use olive oil but I wouldn't in the shower because it can get pretty slick if you drop it in the tub. Bathing though is pretty safe. Pretty much it is about exfoliating the skin then preconditioning the skin and then lubricating the skin then shaving the skin and then moisturizing the skin. And I hate razor burn and irritation since I have sensitive skin anyway. But doing this I have no problems.
BTW men's shaving creams are designed for thick course facial hair instead of thinner more delicate body hair. That is why I use the men's. A woman actually showed this to me from a glamour magazine article a while ago. things may have changed but I still use Gillette Foamy for sensitive skin.
