In a nutshell, I felt like she completely ignored the existence of non-binary identities and she used intersex as a means to prove her case. What's going on in the NC case isn't actually good for non-binary people because it supports the gov't and binary aligned trans folks approach of there only being male and female sexes, despite her using intersex as examples, which she basically then says has to be turned into male or female. What I most disagree with is them saying that gender identity alone gets to determine my sex, because if I am a mixture of male biology and a female gender identity, I don't agree with that making me solely female. But it does fit quite nicely into gov't computer systems that only have two options and bathrooms that only have two options, despite in the case of bathrooms of it being quite hostile to someone like me. 13. Individuals who are intersex (also known as having “differences of sex development”) have sex characteristics that are a mixture of those typically associated with both “male” and “female” sex designations. 23. From a medical perspective, the appropriate determinant of sex is gender identity. www.aclu.org/sites/default/files/field_document/AdkinsDecl.pdf
