I still am forced into stealth in the binary. Though i do present nonbinary at work, it is very toned down. Even in a state with trans protection laws, its still tough.
Lately it has become dangerous on the trains. Most trans folk i know have been assaulted or raped here.
You get read, you see it. I face it every time i go on the train. No matter the presentation now.
We have a long way to go.

OK just a few observations from me and the article is right because it is just a matter of time. But we don't need politicians to push our agenda. That is only gonna' make it worst. Human nature is when you push something on them that they do not understand then they will push back. Maybe even resent what is getting pushed on them. It is sympathy we need and not laws forcing people to accept us. We were getting there until our illustrious idiotic government decided to push us on the general population. People do not like to be told what to thing, who to like, who to be sympathetic to by a bunch of politicians that seem to just cater to certain groups and want to force everyone to follow their rules. I think the more people know us, the more they will understand us and our plight. Politicians don't give a real fuck in the wind, they just want people to support them. Same way with gay marriage. Why push the subject upon everyone. It is a state issue because states issue marriage laws, not the federal government. States should issue bathroom laws and not the federal government either. It is a slow evolutionary process in people's minds and the more they are pushed the more they will fight back. Slow and easy and let people get to know us and what we stand for and who we really are and they will have sympathy or not even sympathy even but respect for who we are. In the US we have 2 factions of government, dumb and dumber and or right now I think Dumber and Dumberer. But really what do I expect from idiots. People have to get acclimated. Get used to us as just normal everyday people like the LGBs are now. Push it and we will suffer the consequences. It should be a state thing. This state passes the law and sees no harm comes from children or women being raped then another state witll rethink it and have a little sympathy. So on and so forth. That is the way to get shit done. Not pushing anything down anyone's throats before they are ready to accept it. I mean I would not use a tablespoon full of baby food to get the baby to eat faster. It would chose them. So you use a small spoon and small bites and eventually that child in a few years will be scarfing down Mc Donald's Happy meals, cheeseburger, fries and all. Personally I don't want to push my gender identity on anyone. Most people can figure it out and some refuse to see it. I will use the restroom with what junk I have if dressed like a guy. I use the women's room non chalantly dressed as a female but do have a fake ID if ever asked with a definite F on it. But I have never been checked. Not because I can pass fully so to say but because I go in with confidence. There are some really ugly and masculine looking cis women in the world and they don't get in trouble for using the women's room. So I suggest learning how to walk like a woman and talk like a woman and makeup does wonders. But.. I would never ever use the women's room dressed as a guy (even though I have gotten some funny looks with my jewelry, hair and brows ) I suggest that let's give it time and ask the politicians to please quit thinking they know everything when they don't. A tansgender politician would be the only one that I would even give any credence to.
