Biological Roots of Being Transgender The best evidence that gender identity is built-in, according to Safer, comes from a 2004 study documenting attempts over the last 25 years to treat babies born with male-pattern XY chromosomes, but who had ambiguous genitalia. Since it is easier to surgically create female genitals, the children were given female body parts shortly after birth. They were also given estrogen at puberty, to ensure breast and other body development, and otherwise raised as “typical” girls. But when scientists checked in on the kids years later, they found the majority were living as men. The effort to manipulate the babies’ gender had largely failed. “Basically, we know gender identity is biological because we thought it was malleable, and we found out (we were) wrong,” Safer explains. Chromosomes, genitalia and gender identity align in most people, but in transgender individuals they don't.

Chromosomes, genitalia and gender identity align in most people, but in transgender individuals they don't. First off I don't agree with the whole Biological thing. Neurological? Possibly. Biologically I have a penis but never felt like a boy, or man. Yeah even though it is short it is there. So biological I am a male. UGHHH. how short and no shit. This short "------" Yeah nature screwed me as a male and really screwed me as a female. My boobs are bigger than my penis. From nipple to where they reach my ribcage: "------------------------". Just some measurements to show the sizes that I'm looking at. So my boobs are bigger than my little "dickey do". That may be why all the girls laughed at me. Excieted give me this "---------" I had bigger boobs and something that wasn't big enough to please them. Thank god for the tounge though being bi. BTW I actually measured with a tape measure and then used the lines to show the measurements I took. Hell if I ever got an Orchi, I would never have to tuck again. I don't even tuck now. For me maybe a lot of it is bilogical but I was born in a time when doctors were assholes and most men wanted their firstborn as a son. So I'm a son. But yeah right. But even though everyone knows how long my penis is now and how big my boobs are and the ratio to one and the other. I still think it is way deeper than biology or nuerology. I truly believe it lies in the psychology where our deepest thoughts and secrets are. In biology, we are no more than animals. In nuerology, we are no more than electrical impulses in the brain which is biological. But psychologically, if you are a follower of Jungian psychology, we are so much more. The word Psychology comes from the Greek word Psyche which means Soul. PS for a certain psychology sudent on this sight, don't say anything to your professor just in case he is a Freudian and beleives we all are trans, gay or whatever because of mommy or daddy issues. Do what you have to do to pass and then try and understand the mind. Jesus Christ. I can't believe I shared all this shit with everyone. I guess my point is that it sometimes is a biolgical fuck up by nature and a psychological event. My little dicky do don't define me. Thank god I don't have to tuck. My boobs are big enough that if I wear an a cup bra that they are well defined. And not to mention good ol' psychology and the way my mind works is mostly feminine. Nuerological though, to me that is bassically just a bunch of nuerons and receptors and logical thinking. But then agioan the brain can go haywire with a tumor or chemical imbalance and so on.
