In my almost comically stagnant push to present more androgynously, I have decided to more or less say screw it, and to look the way I want to look.
One thing kind of holding me back is that I work in a very blue collar industry. (Manufacturing) and I feel like the sort of transition I would need to present androgynously might "cause a disturbance in the force" among some of my "not as enlightened" co-workers.
Has anyone successfully done some sort of male to andro or male to female transition within the blue collar world? Do you think it was harder or easier to do in that type of environment?
Any advice?

You in the states?
Can depend how you carry yourself.
Strength gets respect, guts get respect. Then the guys that are natural leaders influence so the ignorant ones see themselves as bullies and knock it off.
But you gotta be tough to do it, and let the flak bounce off you.
Might need to line up allies first...
Just thoughts. I transitioned arpund rednecks. Cynthia ate em for breakfast when they started gossipping.
Which i rather liked.
But i dunno really.

I am in the states, though thankfully not in the Bible Belt lol. I'm a machinist in New England. The problem inherent there, is that most of the people in my trade are older gents getting ready to retire, without much desire for open mindedness.
Not to mention I just got a new job, so there's still the fact that I'm not really well known as is

Haha, yeah... I think I I'm just going to ease into it over a long enough time where no one really recognizes it. Kind of like digging out of a jail cell with a teaspoon

I'm starting slow.
Loosing weight, and probably getting my hair done in the very near future

A little bit at a time Mickie. Most of the "oldtimers" won't even notice. Hell you are young and just tell them that is the style nowdays. Plucking eyebrows to make them look neat is pretty much common place with guys now, trimming them too. Hell any young person don't want Caterpillars living above their eyes. If they give you a hard time give them one back. Not to mention their pompadours and weird ass haircuts. Shit there are as many blue collar workers that are trans as any other color collars. I kind of like the black leather ones for myself. Hell do you have any idea how many truck drivers are LGBT? More than you can count because they end up driving trucks to be able to dress and express themselves. That is less than a blue collar job because we get abused in the way of work than most if not all blue collar jobs. Hell we don't even get lunch hours. Most of the time I eat going down the road because if I eat lunch then I may not be able to find a place to park east of the MS river after 3 PM. Sometimes those manufacturing jobs run late getting out and they expect the truck driver to make up the slack time. Brokered loads, the brokers hand on to them to get the most money they can and lower the price and usually when a company takes the load it is almost late or a driver has to run nonstop from the west coast to the east coast or damn near non stop. That is a comfortable 4-5 day trip from the SW to the NE or NE to SW but some want it in 2 1/2 to 3 days. If I run like that it is 500 up front or on a Comcheck and 500 when I deliver. If I don't make it then at least I made 5 hundred dollars, if I do then they pay up or it don't get delivered until I can deliver it legally according to logbooks. Whether blue collar, white collar or black leather collar, never let anyone take advantage of you or make you the butt of their jokes. Always turn it around.
