A mother whose husband came out as a transgender woman after nearly two decades together insists that their marriage is better than ever because she is 'finally comfortable in her own skin'.
Amanda Jette Knox, a writer from Ottawa, Canada, learned that Mark, her husband of 19 years, was a woman unhappily living in a man's body just 18 months after their child revealed that she is a transgender girl.
'The life I knew — the life I had with my husband — died that night. There's no other way to describe it,' she wrote in a in a powerful essay for Your Tango.
