I was at a funeral last night with family.
I miss church.
I was stealth, it was interesting gender wise. It clicked, no discomfort. Just me.
But I realized I lost something really crucial.
How has being trans affected your Christian walk, experience, prayer life, relationships?
I need to share later.
What an eye opener.

The knowledge that I'm trans has brought me much closer to God. The reason is simple really. Before I was repressing this whole part of me, not only to myself and those around me, but to God also. Now that I'm letting my true and whole self out to others, I can also be that open and honest with God, which has made our connection and walk together much closer and deeper. I'm very happy in my spiritual walk, and its been even better since I've become more authentic in myself.

I am not a Christian. But I grew up as a fundamentalist Christian. I drifted away from the church for a lot of reasons. I figured that coming out as trans* meant I'd never be welcome in a Christian church again. But I ended up being drawn into church circles more actually. I ended up joining a Unitarian Universalist Church. I'm a friend--almost a member--of an MCC Christian church. A friend of mine is the minister of a baptist church (we are cosponsoring an event this weekend). And this weekend I also have a meeting at an Episcopal church at the request of the rector. It's weird that I have been drawn so much into church life by being trans*.

Yeah.
I was at a funeral, I miss it.
I feel poisoned by bitterness.
Trying to fix it now.

Would a different church help? One that might be more affirming?

Trinity For me, I truly got saved as a trans person seeking the truth in certain issues on Christianity. Once I found the truth, a lot of my doctrine changed as I'm now a once saved always saved post-tribber, to name a couple. Prayer life: that has increased more Relationships: Unsure since my family and I don't speak about this subject yet. I tried to implement my faith in my last relationship, but that has ended. I have plans to carry that faith into my next relationship if I have one. Basically, I have become a MUCH more stronger and doctrinally sound Christian.
