The stuff in soda is really bad for creating cravings for food, and for more of whatever it is you're drinking.
It almost doesn't matter if you have one or the other, sugar and especially high fructose are additives anyways, but look into it, it's bad.
One of the things about diet soda's that drinking them isn't going to allow you to lose weight, one of the things floating around is the diet soda and overweight people, but in studies, it's one of the worse things you can do to yourself while trying to lose weight, the additive properties alone are really high, and caffeine is good for you so long as you don't lose sleep, and spread it out over the day, stopping by 4.
It goes back and forth about whether it is good or bad, but keeping it under 4 cups can be good, it helps keep metabolism up, can make you less hungry.
But seriously, all soda's are total crap foods and the crap that's in them is killing people because it isn't diet anything, it causes cravings in the hope you will drink more, but that also translates into more food as well, you might as well take up smoking, they both rate about the same for early death.
I drink filtered water, the cheap britta one just to get rid of the ungodly amount of chlorine they put in it.
I used to developed water systems way back when RO water was still new, I made the first prototype under-sink version that you can still buy.
But I don't like the nothing but pure water from them, makes good coffee and such, but drinking it is so blah it seems like it tastes bad because of the lack of taste. I've been drinking better water when I can, but that isn't always, there is also a lot of unknowns in the water you drink, but that's still better than any soda on the market.
But drinking anything besides soda, diet or not is so much better for a person. Cut out the processed food as much as possible, especially like lunch meat or kielbasa stuff, processed is usually bad and the salt is over the top, which is another thing that most have to watch, do without it for a few weeks and you'll see how much you were using that you didn't need in the first place, go back and eat those kinds of foods again and they are too salty.
I had to revamp my diet almost completely a little over 6 months ago, cholesterol was too high, triglycerides way to high, LDL killing me softly, HDL almost non existent, and my blood glucose was rising and it did go over the range and put me into the diabetics range, not good, it kills a lot of people.
I beat the sucker back down, am still taking a med for it and will just to keep it down.
My cholesterol is still to high, but everything has changed for the better and I will get it under control, it really isn't that difficult.
I was just under the average range for likely to die from heart disease of some kind, which was good considering that I still smoke, but almost not.
This last time at the doc brought it down into the middle of the not likely range, which is about right, nobody in my family gets cancer, heart disease, but diabetes is there and Alzheimer is as well, but I don't worry about the cancer heart disease stuff, ain't gonna happen and I'l be done smoking soon, it's down to one a day because of the cold, and on a warm day might be three but usually two, it's at the point of ridiculous, I can stop easily, but I still like the buzz I get from not having one since the day before. There was a new study done and they say that even one a day isn't much better than a pack a day, none is way better. Go look it up if you'r interested. So I either go back to a lot a day or just quit, but for now, I still like the one. I'm not going to go out of my way to be healthy, I should have done that years ago, it's not to late, but if it is going to make life miserable, at my age it makes a difference, but I'm slowly getting there and I can see the changes, losing weight was a thing and I did lose some, lost the sugar belly, oddly enough my eyesight has improved a lot, I can see better at night. My diet is turned over to lots of fruits and vegetables, and I added a bunch of probably crap supplements that may or may not do a thing, depends on where you look for info, but it's a stab in the dark and my death rate is now lower, way lower than average and I did what they said can't be done and that's once you hit the diabetic range, it just keeps getting worse, but I beat it down and it will stay down.
But I'll lose my memory, my brain will rot from the inside out and if the republicans stay in control, then the Nazi state will kill me off because of it, I won't have to stand in line, to save money for the rich they will push me to the head of the line...
All of you! Stop drinking soda's, you'd be better off taking up smoking, or long-boarding....
