It's political grandstanding and I doubt it changes many peoples minds because most people either don't care about it, or they believe some televangelistic bullshit as they sign their paycheck over to them so they can buy another McMansion care of the gullible. Even here in the great white north, most people could care less, but then again in this state when they went to change the law on gay marriage only a handful of 'the world is ending' people stood on a street corner in protest and left after so many people were honking and flipping them off. They changed the law, and at the same time they changed it completely by simply taking out reference to gender, actually shortened the wording up a little and so trans can legally be married as well. Nobody said a thing about it, because nobody gives a shit, its only in the most backwards swamps of republican strongholds that people give a shit and they know they are way in the minority, the politicians just use it as a leverage point for more votes from dimwits. It isn't the politicians, its their need to gather votes and republicans only have the the deplorables to tap into, and most of them are the snowflakes who bellyache about personal freedoms but only for them, fuck everyone else, they are at a loss to even explain what democracy is. Its like smoking pot for most people, they ask why is it illegal to begin with, the ask why do you care about someone you have never met and never will, because real people don't venture far into the deplorable swamps. But still, probably best to stay armed and ready for the dimwit stupids of the world who believe that earthquakes are caused by god as revenge for LGBTQ, as well as the insane reality that the earth is actually round, it just befuddles the minds of stupid people, the deplorable swamp creatures. As far as I am concerned its not defensible Biblically to attack trans. It requires a complete disregard for the science of it. There is plenty of room for science and true Christianity, if anything they would support each other.
This is just close mindedness and is heartbreaking.
Anyone that panders to using fear to manipulate others, instead of love, is on the wrong side of everything God is.
A true Christianity would look at how God made us and celebrate the truth of His creation. Those of us born trans can't swap our brains out, so we correct our bodies to match the brain. Science. The brains of transpeople are different from their cis birth organs, it's documented in MRI's and a bunch of stuff. Hopefully the truth will set us free, and if majority rules and majority wants genocide, then this democracy is doomed.
I'm just venting, none of this is new, it's just extremely aggravating and I am really tired of it.
On a good side, according to our five year old, everyone in school was wearing masks, mandate or no mandate, common sense seems to have prevailed in rural Florida Trump country. Where those flags are still flying by the way, lots of them here.
Yup, most times I am legally armed when I go out, don't have a street howitzer but a 22 mag head or heart shot ends it fast in a life threatening situation. But then you have to live with it.
Point being, you live.

Most of the so called christians who are dead set against trans or anything LGBTQ are the ones who listen to the preachers who use it to boost donations, money for them and in the case of televangelists, for them to live the rich lifestyle, charlatans, all of them. They cherry pick things in the bible and give out of context meaning to phrases, and they certainly avoid the things in the bible that expose them for the thieves they are, using the bible to promote hate is certainly the wrong way to use it, there is plenty of examples of hate gone wrong in the bible and about making money the center of everything, and most all of it is from the old testament which Jesus said was the old way and that god isn't that god, that god is about love and getting along, for everyone. Its the hate filled so called christians who stir up trouble with their cherry picking bullshit, it would be and is just as easy to cherry pick things in the bible that tears them apart, their hateful bullshit, money grubbing and deceitfulness. Is it any wonder that so many people have given up on religion in total, when you have to sit and listen to hateful shit on a sunday morning sermon, its not what you are there for, unbless you are looking for reasons to just be a hateful asshole yourself. When a group of people leaving the church after a sermon full of hate take that hate and act on it, they are not christians, they are in the devils grip.

It isn't really the majority of people, but it is close to a majority as far as political power because of the way electoral maps and Senate seats work in this country. They are very loud though. Things may get worse before they get better, but really this has been going on since 2016 and NC, and has been ramped up this year all over the country.

It scares the living piss out of me.
I don't know how it was for folks later than us, growing up in the 60's and 70's in rural America being trans was a death sentence. And those guys are all in for "bring back the good old days".
They were good days in a lot of ways, but not that one. And probably that's just because we were young.
And by the way, if those are the good old days, we all should be stoned out of our gourds....tripping the light fantastic.
The days of Stonewall.

It wasn't a bg deal for me growing up if people questioned someone's gender, there wasn't the hatred that you see today and the last couple decades. In high school in the late 50's there were obvious gay and trans of a sort in the student body, not outright trans but most definitely what we know of as NB. While people made fun of the different, there wasn't the all out hatred you see today, I blame televangelists and politicians who zero'd in on it as an issue, they made it something to hate, otherwise you were just considered to 'light in the loafers'. I had friends who were gay and friends who were obvious NB, it made little difference to most everyone else, we all hung around together, I mean even the jocks and the hippies did a lot of the times. I had friends from every group of circles of friends, I never had problems and in fact the jocks were more inclined to be protectors than to be problems. Different was nothing at all, the range of who you were and could be wasn't dictated by fashion or politics, or even religion, it mattered if you were a good person or an asshole more than anything else. You were either just another suit and tie or a real person to most everyone in society and having a suit and tie meant nothing other than that was the uniform of the day, you could actually trust people a lot more back in those times. Back then it was horrible that we lost fifty thou soldiers in Vietnam, now we lose ten times that many to an inept president and politicians and covid and yet those same inept want to make an issue out of LGBTQ? The country has better things to worry about than gender right now and climate change is looking worse than ever, all the bitching about gender is wasted time considering the real problems in the world.

One of the most classic tricks in business or politics is to get people's heads away from real issues that matter and get them riled up about something else, its called shifting the spotlight, they demonize somebody and go for their throat to cover of the massive mess they made, keep everyone in denial until the company crashes and burns because they never looked at root causes, they only look for someone to blame something on.
But this stuff just has to stop, it just has to go, and unlike you, I did grow up in hate town usa, you trans upstate ny you might very well be stabbed fifty times and then doused with gas and burned. Believe me, and its happened long ago and it happened just a couple years ago again.
It's freaking brutal and up there you can't even protect yourself, if your dead call the cops and wait, bled out, too bad.
Don't get me going, the rage is right there....and it's extreme, I know yours goes farther than mine does, but mine isn't very fun either.

It was one of those days when the family really let out what they really think of me.
I'm in one of those low and depressive places where I really don't feel like doing a darned thing right now.
At the end of the day, they are ashamed of me being me.
They never embraced me being trans, or even accepted me being trans, or tolerated me being trans. They just gave up trying to make me not trans.
My grandson is at that age where he sees things, he said something to his mother about wearing dresses like grandpa, and it all just went to hell from there.
At least I know what they really think. Is anything going to change?
I doubt it. But its one of the only times I have ever gotten into the car and just left, so that I didn't say something I would regret later. And they actually asked me to appologize for being openly trans. I just said, no, I will not appologize for being me.
I am a little upset tonight, but what do you expect, and who knows what kind of shit is crossing their facebook feeds, I don't even look at mine anymore and I can't even begin to look at the news.
Another friend of my wife's died last night from covid.
So yeah, I walked out the door and when I was asked on the way out to applogize, I just said I'm tired of being abused and I don't want to say something I will regret, and I left for an hour or so, drove down the street, sat in the car, and stared into space just feeling numb and very bad.

Of all the things going wrong in the world today and of all the things going wrong in FL with covid, in Tx now that the taliban nazi's are in full bloom there, trans is hardly a blip on peoples bubbles of shit they have to wade through day after day. It's easy to rip on people personally, it takes very little to do that, you can find fault where none is actually there, I've expressed this to people before and they say something to the effect that there is nothing wrong with them that I could cap them with. It takes under one minute to either have them crying or screaming pissed off, and its nothing special to be able to do that, anyone can do that to anyone else, the biggest faults people have are finding fault in others, they talk about that splinter in your eye and can't see the log in theirs. I sideline that kind of shit talk at me right away, and it isn't pretty but its effective, its usually pretty apparent what others don't want you to talk about them with, and almost always they are the ones hiding in a not very well done way their shortcomings. Seriously, the very worst thing people do is to try to put the focus on someone else by hacking at them personally, because they know they are not exactly or even close and usually far from perfect themselves, but the attempt to make themselves look better by making someone else look bad... Everyone is guilty of this to one degree or another, but by far its like the most visible way to see through someone's imperfections and make them stand out all that much more, by accusing others of being less than perfect. It makes you a better person to accept others and find their good points, their strengths, their willingness to help others, slamming on someone is petty and makes you look small, I hate it when I catch myself doing it, and everyone does, but at least most people know they are just being assholes. But this is what the country and the world has been slowly changing into, the constant blame game that isn't even blaming someone, its outright bigotry for whatever reason, it gets a pass more and more and it just leaves everyone angry. But somehow, if all you've got is to cap on someone for being trans, then you really don't have jack shit, because everyone who does that shit is far worse and its provable and apparent just because they try to make it an issue, it affects no one unless they let it effect them and it is never intentional, it just goes to show how incredibly weak some people are if they let the fact that LGBTQ is a part of life and there is nothing, not a damn thing that is going to change it, because it does nothing, it changes nothing and their bigotry changes everything.

the death toll of friends and reletives though fairly distant of our little famiy this week is up to eight now, the same one that lashed out at me, and she is a bit crazy, went over the edge a number of years ago due to abuse, but she lost four friends and they were all in their twenties.
And they are all like, well if its gunna kill you, its your time and its going to happen.
Our family is on pins and needs down here, anxiety is super high. Everyone is on edge. Everyone is scared.
As to the transphobia or bigotry, well, actions speak pretty loudly too and I am sitting here putting the grandson to sleep.
I don't know, and I don't think they understand the impact of their words, I think cis people think we are crazy and men wearing dresses, no matter what I say I can't change that mindset and thats the same mindset used to persecute trans women for bloody ever.
Nothing was said when Icame back, and I think they know better, and they won't appologize and I won't either. It just goes back to the way it is.
Really appreciate the support tonight, a lot of old shit came up on me from this, the constant of it all, lifetime of shaming and just all the bullshit, so I didn't do really well with it emotionally.
I'm just tired tonight and I need to shave my legs, I haven't had time to take care of myself really.

I have no shame, I have anger and grief and sadness. Most of the time it is not an issue, it got triggered yesterday.
Its easy to say not to let their words affect us, me. Putting that into action, for me, has been one of the hardest things about being who we are, because even though I understand them to not be true, which takes much of the sting out of it, it still hurts, and it triggers a feeling that I kind of understand as loneliness, and depression.
One of the reasons I stay here in this almost dead forum that is now the few and close knit of us, is that you are the only people that really understand me on a deep level. You get it. There are other trans people that also get it, but they don't know all the things you know about me, because I share it all out here, I know its probably too much and might have overloaded the forum and driven people away, but this is where I know I can come and not be alone. I have people with me, but they just cannot understand how it feels.

Cis people can't really understand what it's like, but a lot of them insist they have a better understanding than we do ourselves. A lot of people seem to think they are experts on lots of things they are not these days. It can be harder for some reason to ignore the transphobic comments than other times people clearly don't know what they are talking about.
I'm not sure why that is. I do not know that I can control my anger if people really push me, but so far no one has made that mistake.

By now, with all of the bullshit of the last 5 years that was caused mainly by the lying betraying wicked bigotted hateful divisive man who bought the republican party and christianity and turned them into something antichrist, pardon while I vent, but with all of that I became a seething volcano that can be triggered in a heartbeat with the deep rage I still have. Its under control, but its always there.
And you are darned right, and not only that, they think they have the right to own your life and medical needs, without ever wanting to know the truth, and being in the fucking majority, they get to control the government because majority rules even when majority is not only wrong but harmful, thank God we have a constitution and a few people that fight for it.
Ignorance cannot govern, and ignorance is what is governing, blind, stubborn, ignorance.
...... volcano rumbles.....
