What Jesus Said No Longer Applies

...So I've been pondering. And as part of these ponderings, I thought about Jesus who was harsh to only two groups: those who turned His father's house into a marketplace, and the pharisees, who blocked the way to the kingdom and bore their religiosity like a golden hammer.

Evangelical Christians tend toward a Bible-alone theology, and tend to believe that the scriptures are evergreen in their entirety. The approach generally seems to be that all the rules presented then still apply. (Except in the case of things like hair cuts, fabric composition, stonings, and dozens of others dismissively lumped into "Old Covenant".) What struck me as I thought the situation through was a new kind of hypocrisy.

It seems as if this particular brand of modern Christians dismisses the entirety of Matthew 23, apparently deeming it as merely historical. Perhaps snickering at those persnickety Pharisees, who counted cumin seeds and nagged about unclean creatures in the meager wine cups of the poor. These moderns seem to feel good about what they believe is a simpler relationship, based on faith alone, and if Jesus' woes apply to anyone, it's to the Roman Catholics.

But this is exactly the kind of viperish hypocrisy which Jesus condemned. Out of one side of the pulpit we hear that all of the scriptures continue to apply to Christians today: all the parables, all Paul's warnings about sin, and most especially those meager mentions of same sex relations.

That same pulpit doesn't seem to think Jesus' woes should be viewed as a warning to God's people today. This is exceedingly odd, given the unprecedented harshness of Jesus' stance, and the sheer force of His derisive disapproval.

Jesus never speaks to anyone in the scriptures that way again. It's to this group of rule-wielding God defenders alone that He unleashes the full force of His verbal condemnation. And remember, conservative evangelicals, this warning is evergreen. He's still unleashing His disapproval on those of you who continue to do it today:

Matt 23:13 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces." 35 "And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth"

Be very weary of what you ponder when it comes to what Jesus or Yeshua taught. Since history does repeat itself then what was then is relevant either today or tomorrow.

There are a lot of things that Jesus supposedly said and revealed that did not make it into the Bible as we know it today. Lost books buried away to keep them safe and away from the powers that be. There are shows that does talk about all the lost teachings from the Dead Sea Scrolls to the lost Gnostic Books. I have a funny feeling that these writing would have been destroyed because of the immense messages they contain. Look everywhere. Start with the New Testament and then go from there. Read what is left of the Gnostic Books. Yeah it is more along the line of mysticism but what do people think the story of The Resurrection was. Yeshua or Jesus will always be relevant until the total end of the Age of Pisces and we are almost there. We have been moving into the Age of Aquarius since the sixties. Believe it or not it is a true astronomical age instead of just a song. With these ages come different perceptions and teachers.

I mean as an example the date of Dec. 21, 2012 was a really significant date in a 26,000 year cycle of the wobble of the Earth's axis. This is what the Mayans talked about and we are restarting in the  Age of Aquarius. These ages are Astronomical and not Astrological. But one is science and one metaphysical. But the metaphysical used to be science long ago.

I won't go more into it here. But climate change, earthquakes due to gravitational pulls at different angles on this planet, Storms and so on, I believe truly can be attributed to the wobble of the Earth's axis. For example if the northern hemisphere is in more direct sunlight then it makes sense that the Northern polar region has less ice. If anyone wants to PM me and delve deeper, feel welcome. No arguments or fighting though. Please.

To me it just shows how deeply we are such a part of the universe and its intriquite workings and how susceptible we are to universal forces.

Won't debate you Jamie, but just like we have the "core" I like to talk about, the core of Christ is unconditional love. And those that stand in the way of that, the ones that bar the way, and that is what He is talking about, well, I would not want to be in their shoes answering to that.
