I had a wonderful little chat with my wife as I drove her to work several minutes ago. It was tribute to Leelah yesterday, and I painted a nail pink. My wife knew about it, and actually said to participate, she felt proud. So today in the car, I showed her my pink fingernail since she didn't get home till later yesterday evening, and I left for AA while she was still asleep.. I was very surprised by her reaction.? She actually liked my polished nail, so taking advantage of the opportunity, I said, I can start doing your nails dear, I already have the polish.? Well OMGosh, she said YES.! And don't forget her toes.!! Lol So quickly I added this comment, "might as well hun, my brain is wired half female anyway", and she replied " uh-huh".. Oh, you better get some good colors too.. WTH.? She's giving me permission to basically put together a nail polish kit, and I'll be sneaking in some makeup too.. I'm sort of still processing what just happened.?? But what ever it is, I LIKE IT.! Did she basically accept me being NB Trans, or am I writing too much into it yet.??

Sounds positive. It is funny that what often seems like a big issue to us is relatively inconsequential to those who love us. Remember slow, steady, respectful and no surprises.
Safe travels Aisla

Thanxxxx.! Its just such a treasure being able to be authentic with the one I love most. <3 Even such a small step, means so much, and feels so wonderful.. Still a long way to go... But for today, all is right in the universe.!

Good you have you success! As long as you temper the pink cloud syndrome, where its easy to go overboard. Slow and steady, and don't go overboard. The more you stay open and social as if nothing happened the better. Where she receives what she needs.
I guess you can focus on having well groomed hands, more effortless.

lol, I had my "Pink cloud" day today.. Tomorrow it's back to normal... Slow and steady.! Excellent advice.! But always looking for that opening, to get an innocent comment in at just the right time, and take another step ahead with her.. You know, this comment is important>>> Sometimes we imagine things are going to be more difficult than they actually are. Fear can play tricks on our minds, when things might not be as bad as they seem..?

Great things have happened to those who are slow and steady.

It sounds like she's accepting of gender nonconformity, which is a start. I agree with the others to keep things slow.
