After years of putting it off, I'm beginning this work. Anyone interested in reading and discussing the text and concepts with me? It is always more interesting to read this sort of thing in a group. Let me know.

Hi, Ming!
Sorry you didn't get any takers on this one. I must confess that this book is fairly far down on my own list of books to read.
My current reading is divided into two areas:
(1) Before I came out, I didn't read much by women authors. I instinctively shied away from things female. But since I've been out, I've read quite a bit of stuff by women, and have found lots of good writers. I joined a book club, and since it's all women, we read mainly women. So a lot of my reading these days is novels by women writers. I'm always on the look-out for stuff that would be good for the club.
I do branch out, though. Basically, I'm interested in lots of stuff, and I'll pick up anything that looks interesting. E.g., I just finished a book on linguistics by Stephen Pinker, a guy I really like and who, I've found, always has lots of interesting things to tell you.
(2) I'm currently spending a lot of time going back through the Latin literature I read many years ago. This would be mainly history and philosophy, but with a bit of literature thrown in. It's fairly hard going since my Latin isn't all that great, but I enjoy it.
Anyway, I was thinking we could start a book thread on this forum. I don't know how many other readers we have here, but it would be a thread where anybody could post about a book they've read and enjoyed. Presumably, there'd be some contributions from time to time.

I didn't really expect anything. German allegorical myth from the 1920's isn't exactly at the top of the best seller list. A little like trying to read Finnegans Wake but without the melody of language typical of Joyce. A Latin Scholar? My oh my, I'm impressed. As to a book and literature area, I'll be there, I'll contribute, just so long as we can include weighty tomes such as "The Girl Who Flew Over Fairyland" Ming
