The flower of my youth is gone withered by the summers heat Autumns leaves are falling And winters coming on But brand new buds are forming And now are growing strong Maybe winter will be late for me And autumn will be long. Patty For those of you who do not know me I melted down just before my 63 birthday in Feb 2013. After frantically searching on the internet I finally found out who and what I am. Shortly after that I sat down and had a talk with God and accepted who and what I am.My world instantly became brighter and the colors more vivid and an inner peace enveloped me that I had never known in my life. Some things are meant to be and it was my time to be blessed once again. Patty

Patty
Here's wishing you a long and happy life.
Did you wrestle with dysphoria all of your life and/or did it reach uncontrollable levels in your 60's? At what point did you determine that you were trans?
Safe travels
Aisla

Aisla, I knew from an early age I was different,my brothers who were 7&8 years older than I taught me a lesson never to show what I felt when I was about 8.Yes it was progressive and in my fifty's became more and more pronounced.I did not know what transgender or dysphoria was till I melted down just before my 63 birthday. Then after searching on the internet I found out in an OMG moment. Things have only gotten better since then. I have been ruminating on a thread I will call progression that is a story on my life dealing with something that was always present but had no name and really controlled my whole life. Patty

As for me I never knew squat! I am an anomaly created in part by Monsanto and probably a lot of other environmental contaminants that I had come in contact with and ingested during my lifetime. Once that reality gripped my existence then the idea of living out my years in the opposite gender took on a life of it's own, the rest is history. Of course this has given the Mean Girl clique plenty of ammunition and fueled a lot of "You're not trans enough" comments, which I have always laughed at as I consider them such poor, pathetic things.

Flowers budding in autumn. I see my wrinkles now, the lines, the grey. Badges of honor in days of old, but for the late transitioner it is not so, it feels like beauty wasted, and the clock is ticking.
Better to bloom late than to die on the vine.
Patty, Aisla, Shan, and all of you, your courage and relentless hope and grace and love carry the rest of us through. And we will carry you.
Buds. You know where this naughty mind went of course.
Breast buds ripening for the harvest. And a honeymoon awaits, doesn't it my dear.
Oh my...
