I saw an article today of a gay man who said he felt uncomfortable seeing his straight friends and family using the Facebook pride flag photo filter; that straight/cis people shouldn't don the flag because they "didn't have the battle scars".
I didn't fight in the war for independence, and I fly the American flag. Am I not worthy to do so since I have no scars?
As a queer transwoman, I find this whiny attitude fucking irritating, and this is why I disassociate myself from the LGBT community for the most part.
Can we please stop being ungrateful cunts and stop telling people what to do or how to live their lives???

Whiny gay guy lets his 'battle scars' get in the way of seeing the respect he got those 'scars' from...

One of his complaints was that some people were just doing it because everyone else was; but that's no justification for saying that straight and cisgender people should stop. If I were a straight cis person and I read that I would be thinking, "what the hell? what do you want from me?" It's attitudes like this that make people not *want* to care or be an ally. It's the same deal as people in the trans community who make generalised slurs about cis people as if they're all just supposed to read our minds and know what pronouns to use. *migraine*

Most of the people I know and know me are cis. Yah pronouns.. One of them is using they even for cis people. I do all the time, and I haven't had anyone question it or even look puzzled. Country folk, laid back people.
