When do you think your transition will finish?

My psychiatrist asked me this question. I thought after bottom surgery transition would be finished and gave him that answer.

But thinking it over, I don't think about transitioning much anymore. Transition is not something that will change or finish, the journey of discovering myself doesn't quite fit the definition of transition (for example, going from A to B)

It's not that easy, so I've stopped thinking about it as transition and more of it's my life and the journey I'm on that matters.

Like Ativan says, it's the journey that matters, not the destination

To a body goal? A lifestyle and sense of being goal?

Not sure yet, but probably once I get my chest fixed and my internal, reproductive organs removed. I don't like the options available so far for junk surgery.

We are always transitioning. Our presentation and understanding of ourselves is constantly developing. It's true that it goes through a period of rapid change but that does not stop, it just slows down to a normal level, so my answer is, never. The me I am now is different from the me I was then, but also from the me I will be tomorrow.

I don't really like the current options available for MtF. If a new option came along that I did like, and I didn't have to sacrifice the amount of money which could be a down payment on my future house, I might consider transitioning hormonally, but since aside from what's down there, I don't really have body dysphoria, it doesn't seem worth it to me. I am very much still transitioning mentally though, going from shame to pride is a long process, it seems.

Hormones are more emotional for me, and acute body dysphoria. If you already have what you like, and feel good, why reprogram your body and brain chemistry?
