hey again all; it's been a little over four years since i've posted anything!! just wanted to pop back in to talk about how much this forum helped me as a kid struggling with gender dysphoria. when i felt like i had nowhere to turn, having this community space to connect with other queer people & learn + grow together was NECESSARY. I use the date I created my first profile, July 22, 2017, as the marker of my "trans-aversary." It was the first time I came out to anyone as nonbinary. Flash forward nearly 7 years; 3 different names, 5+ pronoun/identity changes, and a YEAR + some months on testosterone. I live in the world as a guy now, I have for a while now actually, and I can do whatever I want with my presentation without fear of not being perceived right.
Quick re-introduction is prob in order !! I'm Rory, I'm 20, I use mostly he/him pronouns but I'm not too picky about it; anything w good intent is affirming 2 me. If I had to sum up my gender now, since so much has changed since 2017, I'd say a few different things; transmasc girlypop, boy who used to be a girl who looks like he's trying to be a girl, binary trans guy [for all Practical intents & purposes]. Medically transitioning really unlocked a whole world for me; it gives me the opportunity to be as close to physically male as i'll ever get (VERY close), and almost experience what it's like to have been AMAB and nonbinary/genderqueer. A friend of mine actually ASSUMED that's what I meant when I said I was "trans" which was an extremely interesting experience.
I've just overall been a lot more queer w gender lately: I joke about my tits while also having stubble, I wear tank tops where my binder is Very visible, I wear skirts w my hairy ass legs. I've never been more happy to be exactly who I am, and I'm so grateful to this community for helping me find my path. I really want to take my knowledge & experience with gender and use it to help others throughout my life, just like y'all helped me <3
