Hi, y'all! I made an account a while back and haven't been active, but I'd like to make an effort to be friendly with everyone.
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone else has been keeping up with The Last of Us on HBO! I've been a huge fan of the game since it came out back in 2013, and I've quite enjoyed the show's rendition of the story. Plus, seeing all of the Pedro Pascal thirst edits has been very funny and entertaining.

Glad to see you post. I don't have that show though.

Have you played the game? I don't want to spoil anything in case you decide to watch/play, but essentially it's a story about 20 years after the start of a zombie apocalypse when a man has to transport a teenage girl across zombie-stricken America. It's more about their relationship than about killing zombies, so if you're not a fan of thriller content and like people-focused stories, I would give it a watch. It's somewhat violent and features a lot of scenes that could be triggering, though, so keep that in mind.

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid, I'm a LOTR fan, love the Bond movies although it makes me dysphoric, I always get jealous of the Bond girls. Gaming I'm into crash team racing and Halo with my grandson, madden football with the older ones. But not the zombie thing, though if you watch the new LOTR the goblins are so realistic it can take you there.

My boyfriend, and I have been watching the show, and we watched each episode as they came out. I've also played both games. I really liked the last of us, show! I thought it was one of the better video game adaptations. Like the cast was great like Pedro resembles Joel a lot, & Bella resembles Ellie a lot too, then the actress for Marlene also looked really similar to Marlene in the game. I also really liked the changes they made like Sarah being mixed, instead of another basic white blonde girl, I loved the bill & frank change of letting them love each other & be together until they decided to take control of their own deaths together & I loved the change they made with making sam deaf, & showcasing disabled characters really well in an apocalyptic story that actually ties in well with the Henry, sam, Melanie's character, and Kansas City plot well. Like Sam being deaf wasn't just an afterthought to have diversity, but well thought out, and having an infection causing his deafness which places more realism in this story as that could happen in everyday life like Helen Keller. I also ended up listening to the official HBO last of us podcast for the show & they mentioned how the actor for who played Henry, he learned American Sign Language, like over the weekend for the role. Which is badass. I also really enjoyed how close to the game they stuck, & changes they made in the show actually added more to the story. I also really liked Bella's acting in that scene with Ellie killing David, & just really going at it was really good, & I felt exactly the same way watching that scene as I did in the game. Bella did that so well. I also liked how they made David's perverted advances towards Ellie, & his attempt to rape her not as subtle, & more obvious in the show than In the game. I mean in the game I picked up on it right away, but they made it subtle that while playing I questioned myself like was he actually trying to rape Ellie, & making sexual advances towards her, or was it just the cannibalism that set off Ellie in the fire scene?
