I've been wondering if anyone here has any advice on what to do about people who outright refuse to use your new pronouns. In my case, the people in question are my wife's parents. Obviously I can't just cut them out of my life and I can't continue to just ignore it since it irks me every time they refer to me by my old pronouns. It may also be worth mentioning that they were introduced to me with my new pronouns and still chose to refer to me by my assumed pronouns. I think part of the problem was that my wife was the one to inform them while I wasn't there to speak up for myself so I didn't have the chance to advocate for myself and now it's a bit of a mess since I want to bring it up to them in person but I'm not sure how to broach the topic when our conversations never stray anywhere near a natural segue for the topic of my gender to be discussed.

I wish I had a better answer for this, but some people just are not going to use your pronouns. While there's a chance discussing it will change things, it might not.
My mom doesn't use my pronouns. If I try to correct her, it starts an argument. If my sister corrects her, she'll go along with it for awhile, but go back to he/him the next time we talk.
Honestly, I personally just choose to ignore it even though it irks me too, it's better than arguing.

Use the wrong pronouns for them in conversations with them, or just makeup ones that you would like to use for them. But look at it this way, you can't polish a turd. People refusing to respect others deserve little respect from people and they only make themselves look small, but bless their little hearts those republicans. Nobody is obligated to use the preferred pronouns that people would like them to use, its a simple matter of respect, lacking that, its your choice as to how you want to go about disrespecting them.

Since you can't cut them out they could refer to you by your name

Have you noticed that people who refuse to use preferred pronouns seem to go through some of the worst gyrations to get around it? There is the simple refusal and then using the forced bio pronouns and then there is the ever popular can't stand to be called a bigot so they use excuses that are lame to worse. Don't let it bother you, people who refuse to use prefered pronouns take it as a win if you you let it bother you, its kinda like the very lame 'owning the libs', they own nothing... you can't own a lib. And besides, what person in their right mind wants to own a republican? Even other republicans really have a hard time with owning another republican, it just shows social bad taste....
