Presentation: Gender Neutral
Presentation: Feminine male if it makes sense.
Pronouns: They/Their/Them
Pronouns: I thought "Xe" was good but as it's not so common, so "They" would be fine.

This wikipedia page says that the current explanation is not sufficient to describe intersex people. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisgender#From_intersex_organizationsIs this still under discussion? Any medical or scholarly conclusion yet? Here's my case; I am biologically NB (having some sort of DSD). In my home country the third gender doesn’t legally exist, and I was assigned female at birth, since then my legal/social gender has always been female. My gender identity is NB. Am I cis or trans? I'd love to hear your thoughts, opinions, and maybe experiences too if anyone is in a similar situation. Thanks

The way I understand it, even in countries and states where there is a legal third gender marker, one of the binary markers is still assigned at birth to intersex people, though it can be changed later. I'd say it's still under discussion, though much of the discussion is heavily politicized. There is unlikely to be a conclusion anytime soon.
There isn't even a consensus of whether nonbinary is trans. Some nonbinary people, myself included, do consider themselves trans, but others do not. I think the same is true for intersex people.

The disqualifying of intersex is pretty clear in the article and appears to be the realissue.
Whether cis or trans becomes kind of wordy. If needed medical treatment to alter the body to the brain is obstructed thats another thing altogether.
Unfortunately i am too exhausted tonight to try to be anything other than supportive emotionally.

Here's the thing, intersex is not just about genitals although they make it out to be, it is about your chromosomes and the only way to know is to have them checked and they never ever do at childbirth. There are people who have the direct opposite of what is expected for chromosomes and they might never ever know it, this is the only true definition of intersex, birth defects of genitals is not accurate at all and when they chnge them they do it the easiest way for the Drs, not based on chromosomes, they never bother to even check, and for a lot of people who go through life with what they were born with, until they actually check there is no way to know. And then add into that mix the other forms chromosomes can take, you can have more than the standard issue number of them. And then on top of all that, your sex is one thing and one thing only, regardless of how chromosomes stack up. Gender is an entirely different thing and is up to the individual, there is no way to take a test or poke and prod to find out what it is, the individual decides. Are you cis or trans? Thats up to you to decide, and whatever you decide is right for you, again there is no test to determine gender, it's a social construct, for humans, you don't look at a pet and say it is this or that gender in a real way, thats determined by their chromosomes and reaveals its sex and thats it, everything is determined to be male or female and that in itself is not always true, some living things are neither or both and sometimes it depends on the age of it, and in lots and lots of living things, it can change depending on the need of it. Intersex is easy as pie, and has nothing to do with whether you have standard issue or not, it is a simple thing that is all about chromosomes and nothing more, that some people have different genitals is not the issue, its very common for people to have different sets of chromosomes than what they think they have, and then there is the different ways those can combine, it isn't even a less than one percent of the population, nobody actually knows and the only way to know is to have yours checked and even then, does it really matter?

Hi again, thank you so much for your comments. Yes I know some NB people who consider themselves trans and some don’t. And also there’re NB people who need/want SRS, who take hormones, and who don’t need them at all. In my case I don’t need hormones or surgeries at all, because I don’t have either health problem or physical dysphoria. However I do want to change my legal gender. Now I live in a country where the legal 3rd gender exists, and am planning to get a citizenship here and then change my gender if possible. I just wanted a bit more simple explanation, other than “gender-minority” which is often followed by questions like “what kind of?” and I can’t even answer if I’m cis or trans. So.. Can we keep this thread open for future discussion and sharing thoughts/experiences?

I’m not intersex but I am non-binary (gender neutral). I think it’s cool how all of us are different. When I first identified and gender neutral the younger generation said no you are Agender. The next thing was my trans friends would say you are trans then. I stepped away from this support group, because I felt like I had the support of friends and family Finally. I did start a blog during covid. I’m slowly learning by writing that blog that I’m still allowing things I wish I hadn’t. Coming back and reading y’all’s stuff today has made me realize I need to work harder at being just me.
