Guess I agree with the idea that LGBT+ kids are more prone to suicide as they don't understand what's happening with themselves and / or don't have acceptance nor acknowledgement from their surroundings. If there was different mindsets on the subject, it would stop kids from being bullied or isolated?
The wrong information that keeps on and keeps on that is just the stupid stuff of ignorance from generations of people who still don't understand sex and gender.
I'm old and growing up in the fifties and sixties was a nightmare, conflicting information all the time.
I was bullied, but it never stuck, I could lip off to any of them and if they so much as touched me, a bunch of the football players would come to the rescue and kick their ass.
But still, if the bullies can spout misinformation about a person, that becomes real to a lot of the people listening, and they have the wrong information as well.
Even the sex ed classes they have are full of misinformation and a lack of it even from law in some redneck states.
It's true, they have laws that say they can't tell kids this and that and the one that sticks out is the one about other genders besides the only ones they are allowed to talk about, and they don't even then.
It's like everyone knows that you use letters to make words, but you can see how numbers can be used as well and you have a lot of intuition to be able to do that.
Then they all tell you that you can't do that and make fun of you, and when you go to math class they say you can't and won't say why, because it is against the law there.
Just that you even asked now makes you fair game to be bullied and you will be, if they see something they can use to belittle you, they will.
And you have nowhere to turn, the rumors you hear are all conflicting and some are obvious lies and untruths, but enough believe it that they pass the wrong information along to others.
If you can sound like you know more, then people have a tendency to trust your word, and it's those people who can't tell a number from a letter that makes it all just one huge mess.
Those are the same people who think things like the earth is flat and the govt is poisoning us with mind altering chemicals from the exhaust of jet engines.
The amount of absolutely wrong beliefs that people have for the most simple of things is the reason we have people who don't think vaccines are a good idea, they should all walk to the edge of their flat earth and step off the edge.
And it is that kind of thinking from so many people when it comes to something as obvious as gender and how it is different from your sex and that it has nothing to do with sexual orientation.
But they won't teach it well enough to stop the generations of stupid from ignoring the real information and going with the conspiracy theory type of information, to them there is always some evil plot underfoot that is being kept from them.
There is a lot of stuff underfoot of them, it's called reality and simple logic, but it's so much easier to hold on to the kind of stuff that could cause them to get their pitchforks and torches out so they can burn the castle because there is a monster, and that it how they see most everything, that if they don't see it with their own eyes and if it isn't something that they already know, then it is bad and that is where it all breaks down.
In order to stop the bigotry that is the stuff of the bullies words, the older generations need to be educated more than just their ABC's, they need a lot more in today's world, but they don't want to teach even more than that.
So this ignorance of people who are not different, they are the same as anyone else is, the one thing they have that most don't is that inner feeling of gender that says theirs is different and that they can make words from numbers.
But the bullying that goes on, the misinformation that causes confusion, the outright ignorance of laws that say the truth can't be told, so long as that goes on, then trans is a big target, LGBTQ is a huge target and there is a almost total lack of support in the communities even now, but it is a lot better than it was for me, but that doesn't mean it is working, it just shows that there is a need for basic information to be available to the target groups and that bullies everywhere can go and get their own Mueller Report and have it show that they are total losers as well.
