I’m brand new to this forum and feel relieved that such place exists. I am AFAB and a gay women. In terms of my gender identity I’ve always been aware that I’m quite different to most people as I’d play mainly boys sports and games as a youngster, and as a teenager tried to almost pretend I was a lad a lot of the time. Often I feel like what on earth are these things on my chest but other times I’m proud of them..it would be embarrassing if anyone worked out that I was female. I would try to hide my chest and lower my voice although as I got older it became increasingly more difficult. I realised I was attracted to women in early teens and in all honesty put my gender identity down to being gay although somethings never been quite right. I’m different to other gay women and even the partners I’ve had have told me that I’m quite laddish and like a guy. I know that Iam not completely male or female but lie somewhere in the middle. Perhaps 70% male 30 female.....I know this may sound bad but at 37 years of age I’d never heard of non binary or gender queer along with many other terms in relation to gender identity. Obviously I’d heard of transgender and I’ve been aware of this since a teenager. Just recently it suddenly dawned on me....imagine if you could be somewhere between genders. Like Bi transgender I though to myself. Then when I researched a little abit this online, I was shocked to see that it does exist! And then a lot fell into place. I’m still questioning to a degree but I guess I’m something along the lines of non binary or gender queer etc.
Apologies for such the long message but just wanted to try and explain where things are at. I really look forward to talking to people with similar or different experiences and sharing my experiences in order to try and help others too.

Hi there, nice to meet you 8-) , I’m enjoying the message boards so far and what I really like about it is that there’s lots of different areas to look at and comment within - not just one area to chat. Peo0le can dip in and out of what they wish to and the other thing is it’s not too intense in terms of saturated with people on here constantly writing that you hardly have time to read it all. I know I can type a few things and leave it 24-48 hours and they’ll be a couple of responses sometimes but not too much. I do like that but most of all that everyone e seems friendly and helpful.
