I'm new here. I've been aware of not being cis since I was about 18 (nearly 27 now) and was beginning to make progress with settling into it and what felt 'right' but then had a 6 month hospitalisation - 6 months of everyone using deadname, she pronouns. It kinda left me in a bit of a tailspin.
Recently though, I've found that the concept of bigender really sits well and it's good to have something that feels right again. I don't think I could go back to using genderfluid.

Welcome! I'm sorry you've been having a tough time, a six month hospitalization sounds terrible. I hope you are on the mend You've come to the right place now though, it's a lovely little community here. Feel free to create new threads and comment on existing ones. Look forward to seeing you around!

welcome!
luckily one's gender identity isn't set in stone unless one does quite literally. and even then, one could just take a new stone and do it all over again...
i actually started out more bigender, when i finally accepted my non-cisness, but ended up blurring out the lines and becoming a different sort of person than i thought.
that odd realization that i don't actually have to name my gender. and i can identify as whatever without it changing my own gender identity.
still haven't decided on what i'll identify as though. it will only becone important a while more into the future.

Hi and welcome!
I can understand what you mean about having to go back and get used to being misgendered for a time. I had to do that recently, too. Although not for 6 months! It still left me feeling strange.
I started out identifying as agender. I thought maybe I didn't have a gender. But the more I thought about it, the more I felt like I do have some sort of a connection to a gender. Just, not one that's too far in any direction.
So I've been identifying as neutrois. I like that, because it's a name for a gender. But it's a neutral gender. Which is what my gender feels like.
But like Taka said, you could go without labeling it too, if you want. Or change it if you ever feel like it doesn't fit, anymore.

Thanks all! Had a bit of a rough weekend, thankfully seems like I've perked up, so that's why I'm only just responding. I have bipolar, so those 6 months were my first full blown manic episode. Was funtimes...
Not having a name for it really didn't feel good, felt like not understanding who I am kinda.

Was funtimes... Not having a name for it really didn't feel good, felt like not understanding who I am kinda. I like to have a name for everything, too. I like to feel like I have everything figured out, I guess. I like to know things.. lol. Glad you're feeling better.
