If you have any hi-res photos of yourself I would love to edit them in Photoshop. I can fix acne, blemishes, scars, and even reduce some flab! I also like to spice them up with filters and layers. I haven't done any photo shoots in ages, and half the fun is post-processing. I'm tired of re-editing my stuff, so send me yours!

I process every one of the photos I take to enhance them. Usually pretty subtle changes can make a good photo really good. I also use a commercial 24" printer, and buy 50' rolls of that and 18" stock as well. There's a lot of different medium's that will work with it, but mostly it's photo stock. But I have found certain brands of even tag board that will print well. It's fun to play around with different stuff, just to get different effects from them. Everything prints differently, so adjusting for print quality is needed, but some stuff just begs for weirdness. Plus it's really nice to be able to bring out the best in a photo, it's a challenge. I still have thousands of photos that I haven't touched yet, just never seem to get around to them. I might keep one out of a hundred taken, so it becomes a little overwhelming at times to go through them. Lots of landscape ones more than anything. I'll do photos of people for them, not to much for myself. I don't usually do too much in the way of changing photos of people, but some things just really stand out that don't need to be in them. Lol, I get too fussy and even take wrinkles out of clothing they are wearing. I will do some of that for faces at times, but usually the biggest changes are made by adjusting shadows, bringing out more color. Same thing there, I'll give them maybe one out of every hundred or so taken sometimes, it depends on the situation. Sometimes I only have enough time to get in just a few, so each one counts. But some of my most favorite ones are the ones I just had one shot before the moment is gone. I use a Nikon D7000, with a couple different lenses. It's pretty versatile, easy to use.

When I do photo shoots I tell the person to just walk around and be casual. I don't do anything staged or studio, and very rarely use flash. Candid shots are always the best. I have a Canon 5D and 5D Mk II with L Series lenses, and a Nikon F3HP (one of the first pro film SLRs made in 81).

I find staging shots difficult and they always end up looking like it. I think I've used a flash maybe a dozen times... I'd rather take the time and use a longer lens to stay out of the range of attention with them. The best ones are usually when they have forgotten I'm there or didn't know it to begin with. With children, I can spend the time to let them just be children and only have to quietly say their name to get them to look into the lens. Keeps the innocence and still have a degree on intensity in their eyes. With a shorter lens, M&M's help a lot. I have a series that's into it's fourth year with three different children. My favorites are still finding an interesting shot, usually in or near a wooded area and take shots at the ground a few feet away out to as far as the shots allow. I merge 30-40 shots in a vertical and print them 2' wide by 4-5' tall. If you stand a few feet away from them, the apparent look is as if you are there, by looking down at the bottom of them, to the top foot or so and see it as if you are standing there, it's all in focus, with all of the detail. They hang with the top foot or so just above eye level. Trails, especially the ones that have fall colors and leaves on the ground are always a favorite that people get off on. I do the same with winter shots, right after a heavy snow that is still on the branches. Contrast them a bit and kick what little color there is up a bit to get a look that is like a drawing or painting with lots of detail. It's a minimal look, but with more detail the more you look at them. I group three different ones, one horizontal and two vertical sides of the same place. Some of them are three vertical ones, but the horizontal middle one lets them hang them framing something else. Works the same way, by standing at the proper distance from them, usually 6' to 10' feet away, the apparent look is of being there. The sets sell as one offs usually, but I have printed several in quantities of six, but no more than that. That agreement with buyers gets the higher prices I ask for them. Most of them are either behind office desks or are in waiting areas of business's.

Lighting is everything. I dislike fixing things post, though I am more than capable of doing it if I want. For me the best picture is one that captures the moment so perfectly that you don't have to do anything post.

Lighting is the majority of it. Depends a lot on how I have my camera set. Most of the time I'm on the move and the dynamics are changing too fast, so I let the camera choose the settings. I'm always afraid of seeing that perfect shot and then the moment is gone. I admit it, I'm hopelessly addicted to fooling around with them...
My most favorite photo is one that I took from inside of a car, through the windshield, looking past a skinny tree on the curbside, through plate glass that has the reflection of that tree, a car next to me, the buildings across the parking lot behind me, all framing a woman looking down at her coffee, with a look that is like she is lost in a thought. The only thing that is in focus is her face, left side and slightly behind, but a couple doorways in the buildings across the parking lot behind me can still be made out. Cropped the edges off to 18"X18", it has been hanging within a couple feet of me for over three years now. I had just taken my camera out of a backpack and had taken the lens cap off and looked up, focused and shot it. Just happened to notice her before I was about to get out of the car and walk down the street to where I was taking some other photos that day. It is quite possibly the only photo I have printed that hasn't been changed one way or another.

I love the first three. Very Gothic looking. The forth looks like maybe you were intruding unless they wanted everything documented. I would love to see the bride and groom together connected to the fourth one.
That fourth is really really cool but in a kind of intrusive way. But life sometimes is just natural and I really think you caught it well. OMG the way the Bride is looking toward heaven and it just seems to scream her wish of, "OH MY GOD, Is this whatt I really want and will it work out? Please let it work out." Really good work Illuminess. I actually like the last one best because it is normal and natural and cought someone's life in all honesty.

Some of mine This kind of captures my style quite well i think. This one needed some heavy post processing to get it looking this good There's no post at all in this. No post at all, all this was done in the camera And this is a selfie

They wanted bridal prep shots.
