Thank you Trinity. I love this commercial. At least Darla is trans though and her friend learned a little about life in the process. Advertisements like this and shows that feature trans individuals and documentaries and so on are just acclimating society to us. Let the MTF and FTM come first and then the rest will follow such as androgyne, NB and genderqueer. I mean my gay friends know MTF and FTM transsexuals and most actually see us as female for the MTFs and male to the FTMs but non binary will mess them up everytime. Let along genderqueer and Andro. I remember when Ellen DeGeneres came out as a lesbian on her show in the "90's and knew people that like the show but stopped watching and now???? No big deal. People understand sexual urges and attraction way more easily than Gender preference. Eventually they will accept MTF and FTM because even for gays like a best friend of mine, he can't understand non binary as much as MTF when it comes to me. But he don't like females so I am shit out of luck even starting something with him. I will say this again. Baby steps. Tiny bites until you get an acquired taste. The first beer I drank sucked. I took tiny sips until it actually tasted pretty good. Yeah I grew up in redneck country and loved the cheap wine like Boones Farm like any other girl but when that run out the girls drank beer. This commercial is a really good step though to let people see that we are more normal than some freak of nature. Well. I am a freak but more like a freak in the Rick James song Super Freak.

When i try to explain nonbinary to anyone that isnt nonbinary they look at me with this flabberghasted wtf look.
But if i live it, they get a tiny clue.
Right now everyone needs all the help we can get.

When i try to explain nonbinary to anyone that isnt nonbinary they look at me with this flabberghasted wtf look. But if i live it, they get a tiny clue. Right now everyone needs all the help we can get. Unfortunately people understand polarities much easier than the areas in between a spectrum. Take a rainbow for instance. LOL isn't that one of our symbols of pride? But seriously though most people see just the colors but between the different colors there a definite overlap. A smooth transition between two separate colors even if it is extremely minute A place in which two colors different colors of the spectrum of visible light are combined and become a totally different color but still one in the same. I do know that this is a kind of simplified explanation but next time you see a rainbow in nature, just look. There are no clear demarcations from one color to the next. This blending is sort of what I compare being nonbinary to. It did help a friend of mine understand though. Feel free to use this example next time trying to explain nonbinary to someone. What really messes me up is that in nature there are no clear demarcations but rather differences of the same object. Mountains which are made of big blocks of rocks, boulders, stones, gravel, pebbles and sand and all are from the same object. Even animals are really unaware for male and female except for mating sessions. Yeah there are some exceptions but for the most part a dog don't really care if he has a penis or she has a vagina. And mating in the animal kingdom can be quite violent. I think our higher thinking and larger more complicated brains, not to mention even self awareness even is a two edged sword. Both blessing and curse. But alas we are a part of nature too and somehow nature, evolution or a higher power destined us for this. Personally I believe we are another rung up on the evolutionary ladder and the rest just have to catch up. For whatever reason I have no clue. I do have theories though but they will all sound like BS unless you look at a much bigger picture and farther down the anthropological time line. But you could almost bet that whatever reason it is to ensure the future of mankind or maybe even womankind. But yes we have always been but now. KABOOM! We have really seemed to have exploded in numbers. We are more into the collective consciousness of society now and this commercial just proves it and puts us in a good light. But just remember baby steps until we can run. I wish it would happen faster but every pilgrimage starts with the first step and this commercial was a good one.
