Seven Ways Educators Can Foster Safe Schools for Transgender Students Because many people lack the knowledge or experience to respond to issues that trans students face. While state legislatures are busy deciding who is allowed to use the bathroom, students who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming continue to walk through the halls and sit in the classrooms of K-12 public schools—often at their own peril.

I have one way instead of seven. If a child identifies as a girl, treat her like a girl. If a child identifies as a boy then treat him as a boy. Well maybe that's 2 ways. Hell they may grow out of it or they may grow into it. I grew into it. Thank god my name is pretty much unisex. But all schools should be safe for children no matter LGB or T. T is usually realized earlier than the LG and B. What gets me though is most of society, like 90 percent, think that being transgender is about sex. When I was three I knew something was different about me. Didn't really know what but it was different than the "boys".
