Hi. My name is technically Susan, but when I am online I much prefer to go by my online nickname Ace. Please can you all call me that? It just feels better My gender: I first started to realise the fact I'm not cis maybe 5 months ago. I was at a singing rehearsal and our musician came out as genderqueer and requested that we use they/them pronouns. I just felt so jealous of those pronouns, and that identity. Not that I wanted to be 'special' (like so many haters presume), but that it seemed so right. However it was them getting that recognition, not me. After that I did some soul searching, the problem was that sometimes I would laugh at the very idea that I might be non-binary, then other days I would feel NB very strongly. I finally found the term 'genderflux', which describes me pretty perfectly. I move between agender and female, sort of sliding along the spectrum, it will stay in the same region for several days, maybe a week. But during that time it will still be fluctuating slightly all the time. I have met a few trans and NB people in real life, but I have never had the courage to start a conversation with them on gender, or to come out to them. I have also never met anyone who is out as any type of genderfluid. It is weird enough never knowing for sure what my gender will be when I wake up in the morning, but it is lonely not being able to talk to anyone else about it in real life. That is why I am here, seeking acceptance, and shared experience. That feeling that it's not just me. A little bit more about me: I am aromantic and asexual, I hang out on AVEN a lot, if you are there you may know me. I am 24 (late to be figuring this out, I know) I am Aspergers, I also have depression, anxiety etc. I am studying a double undergrad degree in Media Design, and Computer Science. I enjoy acting, writing, drawing, and geeking over sci-fi (especially Doctor Who, and Hitchhiker's Guide) I live in New Zealand. I also live alone and love it, although my parents are regularly in touch I am out about being aro-ace, but very much in the gender-closet. I think that's about it, I look forward to getting to know you all.

Ace, Tell me more about your computer science undertakings? What route are you going? I'm in IT as a systems administrator right now but I'm looking to make the switch to SQL DBA or software developer soon. Or both. Living in the same region as Microsoft makes for some interesting job opportunities. I'm familiar with the feeling of fluctuating between gender identities... Genderflux, hmm? Thank you for sharing your experience. You're teaching me about myself by being so open about yourself. You've already made the world a better place just by being yourself. I don't know if 24 is what I'd consider late, but I'm not an expert. I'm just glad you're getting to know yourself at any age. I'm 27 and this is all only just now starting to click for me too, so. The way I see it, some people surely go their whole lives never knowing who they are. I think learning something so deep and powerful about yourself and your gender at any age is a huge accomplishment. We aren't given a guarantee at birth that we'll figure out who we are before we die, after all. You're doing awesome. And you certainly do have people to talk to in the morning now. I hope you'll post lots and lots of discussion threads. Do you play any video games? Perhaps you're a Hearthstone player? Do you have any writing or drawing you'd like to share? How do you feel about the Marvel Cinematic Universe? That's what I tend to nerd out over hardest these days. I know I'm not alone when I say I'm glad you're here.

Hi, Ace! Welcome to Non-Binary Support Forum! You aren't alone. I'm agender as well, I experience fluidity of masculinity and femininity but almost always, remaining agender. I thought of calling myself agenderflux before but for some reason, it never happened. It's never too late to figure things out. As we grow, our development and perception of ourselves naturally shift as we learn new things we weren't aware of before. Hooray! I am aro-ace, too! I feel a little less alone now ahaha I'm doing Graphic Design, not sure if that is the same as Media Design though. I live in Australia, haha, howdy, neighbour! I've always wanted to visit NZ, then again, I want to visit the entire world. I'd love to live alone one day, I dream of it and it might just happen in the future. Hope to see you around! Kind regards, Jacey

Nice to meet you, Ace. I feel like the Queen of Shy, myself. If you find out how to break out of that, do let me know?

You welcomed me on my introduction thread, so I'm here to welcome you on yours (Even if, like you, I feel a bit too new to be doing so.) I think it's a wonderful thing that you've found the words to describe your gender, and that you've found a community where people can support you and understand. I look forward to seeing you around here!
