www.lgbtqnation.com/2016/03/north-carolina-governors-race-heats-up-over-lgbt-rights/The North Carolina Values Coalition, for its part, said hundreds of business owners support the state law, but many don’t want to be named for fear of retaliation, a spokeswoman said. This is one you hear over and over and over from the anti-LGBT crowd: lots of people out there are against LGBT rights, but they're afraid to speak out. They must be an awful lot of cowards. We're not afraid to speak out. And anyway, it's not as if the bigots aren't speaking out. Every time some bigot is speaking out, they claim that other bigots are being prevented from speaking out. I guess we're supposed to feel sorry for them. We're such bullies, aren't we?

No it's a sign that our numbers are growing across the country and that we're done taking it lying down like so many shrinking violets. In years past most trans folk wanted only to transition and then shrink into and blend with the general populace, well we know what a fallacious idea that turned out to be! Then there's an increase in non binaries that are highly visible and now we are all standing up and saying "ENOUGH!"

Yep, and when we get some people on our side--like big businesses, e.g.--they seem to think that's unfair. It's OK for them to gang up on us, but when we start getting some people on our side so that we can fight back, that's not fair.

It's OK for them to gang up on us, but when we start getting some people on our side so that we can fight back, that's not fair. The pendulum swings both ways. From their bigoted perspective it is unfair, I mean to think that big business would stand up for these awful people! No I think that the only thing that will change some people is fear. Fear of being seen openly as a bully and a bigot, fear of political reprisal and fear of the loss of jobs and income. That's forced change, which will never change what goes on in their heads, they will always be bigots but we can be hopeful the day will come when they become closeted bigots.
