Reality Tv Star Caitlyn Jenner Is Hoping To Take On Global Transgender Issues After Spending The Last Year Getting Used To Life As A Woman.
The former Olympian went public with her transition from male to female in April (15) during a candid U.S. TV news interview, and then spent months tackling issues as she became one of the most recognisable faces of the transgender movement.
Now Caitlyn feels really comfortable in her own skin and she's taking her message international after meeting with United Nations ambassador Samantha Power.
"I want to see what Trans issues are all the around the world and take this show (I Am Cait) global," Kim Kardashian's stepparent tells WENN. "I met with Samantha Power and spent two hours with her to look and see what the issues are.
"Did you know in 90 out of the 193 member nations in the U.N... the L (lesbian), the G (gay), the B (bisexual) or the T (transgender) is a criminal offence in those countries. You could be put in jail or executed."
Meanwhile, back home in America, Caitlyn is hoping to shed more light on the issues facing transgender people - and she's starting at the airports and the insensitive way some customs staff treat transitioning men and women.
"It is a big issue," she explains. "I've only flown, I think, twice since I've transitioned. It took me a long time to get proper documentation, where I had my name and gender marker correct. I finally got my passport.
"My first trip, I didn't have any problem and got right through security, but I certainly have heard the horror stories of how some people have been treated."
