www.lgbtqnation.com/2016/03/rocky-horror-show-creator-transgender-women-arent-real-women/ "I agree with Germaine Greer and Barry Humphries. You can’t be a woman. You can be an idea of a woman. You’re in the middle and there’s nothing wrong with that. I certainly wouldn’t have the wedding tackle taken off. That is a huge jump and I have all the sympathy in the world for anyone who does it but you aren’t a woman.” Rocky Horror Picture show creator Richard O’Brien to UK gay newspaper The Metro in response to a question about feminist Germaine Greer’s assertion that “Just because you lop off your cock and then wear a dress, doesn’t make you a fucking woman.” Humphries (Dame Edna) agreed with Greer, saying “I agree with Germaine! You’re a mutilated man, that’s all.” After public outcry, the fictional Dame Edna later issued an odd apology for Humphries statements, saying “I disassociate myself from anything Barry Humphries has to say.” Earlier in the interview, O’Brien refers to himself as a “third sex” and is “somewhere in the middle” between male and female."

I agree with Germaine Greer and Barry Humphries.
And you're not embarrassed to say so publicly?
You can’t be a woman. You can be an idea of a woman.
Is this in the Platonic sense? Is this like the ideal table and the idea of "tableness"? Are we contemplating some ideal notion of "womanness"? Are we participating in the idea of "womanness"?
You’re in the middle and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Couldn't I kind of be off to one side? Or maybe skulking around the fringes?
I certainly wouldn’t have the wedding tackle taken off.
Is that anything like fishing tackle? Was this a wedding gift? Your wife probably wasn't pleased if it meant you were going to spend a lot of your married life away on fishing trips.
That is a huge jump and I have all the sympathy in the world for anyone who does it but you aren’t a woman.
Oh, dear, are we going to insist on this purely physical notion of gender?
Earlier in the interview, O’Brien refers to himself as a “third sex” and is “somewhere in the middle” between male and female."
Because you see, Mr. O'Brien, if we're going to stick to a purely physical definition of gender, then there's no such thing as "third sex" or "somewhere in the middle"--unless perhaps you're intersex, and it doesn't appear that you're claiming to be that. So you need to make up your mind.
But let me help you out a bit here: in your own muddled way, you are introducing some subtleties that are way over Greer's head and perhaps Humphries' as well. So don't diss yourself by putting yourself in their company.
Oh, and by the way: RHPS wasn't really a film. It might have been the idea of a film. It might have been in the middle of "film" and "not a film", or perhaps skulking around the fringes, and that's OK. I have all the sympathy in the world for anyone who does that, but it's not a film. Because you see, it was really weird, maybe even outlandish. I will confess that I thoroughly enjoyed it. But you can't do that kind of bullshit and call it a film. It doesn't fit the standard definition of a film. I mean, think of "To Kill a Mockingbird" or "It's a Wonderful Life" or "Dr. Zhivago". Now those are films. Was RHPS anything like that?

Aye, bit of a contradiction there.
