A transgender father-of-two was devastated after she was told by the NHS that a referral for life-changing treatment had never been received - despite waiting 18 months.
Karen Clark, 36, from Hythe in Kent, believed paperwork had been sent off via a GP but when she was ready to take her next step at a gender clinic, she was told she would have to start the painstaking process all over again.
After coming to terms with the 'soul-crushing' news Ms Clark decided she would take her destiny into her own hands.

She set up a Go Fund Me account and has called on the public to help her raise the £6,000 she needs.
On the page, titled 'Help Karen SJ Clark get boobies', which has raised £20 so far, she writes: 'I'm transgender and after 18 months trusting the NHS with my treatment, they have failed to provide anything for me.
'I am asking the world for help, I am stuck until I can feel complete. Once complete I intend on providing some form of support to new transgender patients.'
Ms Clark first realised she was different when she just five years old and saw the famous drag queen Ru Paul on the TV.
It hasn't always been easy for her to find support and she revealed she was given some startling advice by a doctor, as a young man....;
